Hey gang!

I bought two pairs of Kuryakyn Premium Mini-boards to put on the F6B. Decided to put the passenger boards on first... uh... hmmm... don't work. The ball-bearing assembly that controls the passenger foot peg movement (lock up or down) isn't compatible with the typical "spring" assembly of the rider foot pegs. I'd love to get some opinions. Here's what I'm considering:

1. Modifying the assembly to a spring type, and leaving the passenger boards in the down position all the time.
2. Looking for another passenger peg that will compliment the front boards in terms of style (black). Haven't found any yet.
3. Putting the unopened Kuryakyn's up on the classified section and admitting defeat... for now.
4. ???

What would you do? Thanks for your opinions.

The spline is too wide for the passenger slot anyway... no mods here. If you find any cool passenger foot pegs, please let me know. Thanks.

You can get the same mini board without the 'comfort cruise' mount.

pn 7579:

You'll need F6B-specific passenger peg adapters. The adapter itself won't be black.

Looks like pn 8807:

Scotrod,

Thanks very much! That's exactly why this forum is awesome.

I'll just remove the existing splines and order the bike specific ones, and I'm in business.

Cool beans!

Might even consider selling the drop mounts here on the forum. (Or, perhaps do a 'pay it forward' gesture.)

Somebody could probably use 'em,,,

Yeah... After working on accessories for a few days, I have a small collection of OEM parts. Perhaps, when I'm done, I'll put the list on Classifieds for folks who might have lost or scratched something and need a replacement... Maybe just for the price of shipping it. Good idea.

BTW, I posted about your new bike... When I picked mine up, they had just rolled yours out onto the floor. Really deep color, and a nice custom effect. The guy who was with me liked it too, but he's still aiming for one of those orange ones. We were wishing they'd put it out in the sun to see how it looked, but we didn't feel it was appropriate to ask them. Bet it shines.

Please Let me know what your wife thinks of them.
We went A little over 200 miles today.
The wife was complaining about her knees.

I'll let you know how the wife likes them when she gives it a try... but it may take a while. She rides her own bike, and does NOT like riding on the back of mine. Ha

Can't remember exactly how long I've been married, but I'm positive it's still in the single-digit range! :icon_lol:

Both the Wife and I had never been married, no kids,,, in our 40's,,, Got hitched.

I haven't quite made 50, so I'm pretty sure it's been less than 10 yrs,,,

With regard to the pegs, I ordered a set of model-specific spline/adaptors from Kuryakyn (part 8807) to allow the use of mini-boards for my passenger. I knew they were, at best, backordered. Today Kuryakyn sent an email stating that the parts were new and would become available in December. I don't mind waiting, because my wife usually rides her own. Also, I already have the mini-boards for the passenger, so it comes down to patience. I'll wait and put them on when they arrive. Thought others might want to know.

Do you have a pic of this install ? Did this work out for you ? I'm wanting to do the same thing by using the mini boards for the passenger with the adapter part number 8807!!

I have the miniboards for the rider posistion and love them. For the passenger, I can use another set of mini boards with the adapter above and this will allow the board to fold up out of the way when I am solo like the stock footpegs?

I was under the impression the Rivco boards were the only option for the passenger and I have been choking a bit on their price.

The mini boards do not fold out, they would be in the riding position at all times. That's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Thanks, I really want them to fold up when I am solo. Guess the high priced rivcos are the only option.

So if I understand correctly, the mini boards with the proper spline adaptor (8807) for the passenger will not allow the mini board to fold up to the stow position and they will have to stay the fixed position at all times?

The miniboards with the right adapter DO fold up, though they kind of stick out a bit. If I remember, I'll take a pic over the weekend.

I was looking at the oem passenger goldwing boards and I don't see how they would bolt right up? They have 2 holes in the floorboards that look nothing like the stock passenger peg? Is there an adapter or something?

Guys I have been looking at the Rivco adjustable passenger boards. They have a 3 inch arm that is adjustable in a 360 range of motion. They're high dollar but they seem to be the most versatile. I'm open to opinions.

I've been told they do. Got a set coming from FL that should be here this week. I can confirm then. You just remove the oem pegs and the plate they're attached to, and reuse the oem bolts for the wing boards.

I bought a pair off the GL1800 board. He wasn't sure which bolts went with the passenger boards.

That's where I got mine from as well. I'm pretty confident our stock bolts will work. :-) Looking forward to them. Didn't think they'd look good on an F6, but after seeing some on, and especially when painted black, they look slick.

Floorboards arrived in one day. They are not the same as pictured; however they are the same as the Goldwing boards; which is a bonus. Used stock bolts and installation took five minutes. My wife says they are much better than pegs. Price was 132.99 CDN. Take care and drive safe.

Clean paint and go. You will need shorter 8MM bolts. No big deal.

Just put on a set and they look like they belong there IMO. Exactly the same as the ones from U.S. but much lower price. Usually the Honda OEM accessories here in Canada are more money. Another example is the centerstand. Cheaper in Canada but exactly same part.:shhh:

+1 on the Transformers, The wife loves them. I wanted them in black but they only come in chrome. If the chrome plating is the typical quality as some of the plating on other Kury products I have purchased in the past I will probably end up get them powder coated black in a few years anyway......
