Painting close to done... Needs buffing & minor items. Anyone who might be a FULLTIME painter or owns a body shop I would appreciate some advice on for a few things. A couple of items I am curious about from a professional. PM me if ok. Steve.... Will send completed pics when ready. And the Honda techs are completely unreasonable concerning their faulty BLACK paint which is soft and scratches easy with no clearcoat on it. 4 coats of clearcoat here to protect the paint.

Nice looking bike..Paint is almost identical to mine from the pictures...Had mine done by dealer's paint guy before I took her home...House of Kolors, Brandywine Candy Red Clearcoat.....Going into the third riding season in Michigan and it still looks as good as the day I brought it home....Ride safe...

This is Metallic.... Ruby Red Metallic with tinted clearcoat. It does not show that in the pics but glitters in the sunlight. Same color as the 2012--2015 F-150 & Mustangs. Ford RR
It appears darker inside garage, in the evening ect.... appears lighter in full daytime.

I have done some show quality painting but this is not my profession. Maybe I can help with your questions?
Here's a few of my recent paint jobs....
2001 GMC 2500HD I painted a 1966 Jaguar blue (my daily driver for hauling my 5th wheel camper)
1985 Chevrolet Silverado show truck I built painted Electric blue/white (sold at the first show it went to)
1985 GMC Sierra show truck painted Electric lime green/white (best in show 6 out of 8 truck shows)

Love that color, I have it on my F150 and it just glows in the sunlight. That is exactly the color I would choose for a re-paint!

The matt painted mirrors on the F6B seemed to make sense to repaint also since the bugs and such hit them at full force. The extra paint on the motor covers seems to set it off as being more sporty than the factory solid colors of either the F6B or the fullwing. Still have a few paint issues that need to be corrected by the painter before I can complete tho.

Very nice. My wife wants her F6 to be Purple some day. I know you did all the hard work and your painter just shot the removed panels. What was the cost in the end?

About 12 hours to teardown, about the same to put back together.... many parts and pieces were bagged and marked that I did. $1080 at this point to the paint shop, but have a few orange peel issues to be resolved as yet. Painter says all in the clearcoat and is normal, waiting for his callback to get it finished so I can complete. Probably would choose a different painter if doing again. Hopefully he is 100% correct and I will be happy in the end.

It looks awesome. Would you do it again or would you pay someone to do it.

I regretted getting into the teardown because of the amount of pieces, but when putting back together they actually fell into place much easier than I thought. Use many ziplock bags, be excessive and mark them. I took pieces to a paint shop and would never attemp to paint myself. I would tear apart again if needed without fear now. It is good to know how to get into the bike for many things if ever needed again. I changed air filter since it was only a few more steps also.

It is a great color combination, I like the extra definition I put on the Ribbed motor covers to go with it.

Do you have any pics of the bike totally complete, after your painter did the extra work, and all parts put back on?

If it,s in the clear coat all you need is some wet sand and buff it with a good buffer and your done.

Have noticed a couple of scratch's I would like to take care of. It is a 2013 Red color, does anyone know if you can buy a duplicolor type of paint to cover these? A couple are down
to the black base coat? Thanks for any info/direction.

Saw a black one sitting at a bar in Big Bend on Saturday. Also saw blue on in Waukesha about 30 minutes later.
