Did you buy it brand new as a leftover ? Or used.

Most important you walked away.
I have hit one and was lucky enough to walk away, but many friends and family members have and weren't so lucky. Hopefully insurance company does their part.

Glad your OK. What kind of gear were you wearing? 160 feet with the bike on top, that don't sound good. As for insurance, depends on your company, and how you had your policy set up. Did you have accessories added? Some ins will only cover a certain $$ value of accessories. Some state that you must add those extras on the policy, or they are not covered. It's a crap shoot. Hope for the best! You thinking about another 6, if Ins does its job?

Glad your here to post. We have alot of protected land (and the deer know it) around the Lake Clinton area and there are herds of deer running around. I do not like riding my bike at night for the all the deer. Every night I see at least 3 deer and have seen as many as 15 while driving home from my 3-11 job. 30 mph through deer country is max speed for they will run right out in front of you. As far as insurance goes..most insurance companies will offer you trade in value and want to keep the bike. Know what your bike is worth via NADA, Kelly Blue Book ect...Be ready for a fight. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Glad you are fine other than a little road rash. By the time that rash heals you should have a check in hand looking for another bike.

And the insurance will give you you're just reward. Unless you had replacement cost insurance don't expect the whole cost of a new one. You always find out how good your insurance company is when something like this happens. By the way just feel lucky your family isn't planning a funeral for you. A lot don't survive a deer hit at that speed. Glad your OK and hope your insurance company is a good one.

Sorry to hear you hit a deer, but glad to see you're OK.
I think every insurance company handles their cases differently.
Hope for the best for you and hope you get back on the horse soon!
