2008 Honda VTX 1800 Neo Spec 3, 2900 miles with a sale price of $5,000. This is as good as they get..

Having had and modified a beautiful Retro 1800 Spec II,

This one will be hard to pass on at 5 grand...

I may have to ask for forgiveness. Can't have too many horses in the Remuda..

I still kinda kick myself for passing up a 2005 VTX 1800C for 6K with under 5k on it...I still luv my 1800F, having a donor on hand I might not have bought the B tho...

Man that looks like a great price on that bike. You should buy it if you can / it would be a great bike to fly around on just for fun.

Nah, I'd pass. Just more money spent on bikes I'd never really ride.

Ya know... I had a VTX1300S once upon a time. Rode it for many years. Then bought the F6B. Could not go back.
By comparison, it handled like a pig! Mind you, I like bacon as much as the next guy... but really!!
And while I understand the 1300 and 1800 VTX bikes were different animals, by most accounts the smaller was a better (more behaved?) ride than its big brother.
So, it's probably best to think of this pass as a blessing in disguise. Sort of like going back to watch an episode or two of a beloved tv show from your distant past... they're never as pretty as you remember. :icon_lol:

I still luv my 1800, yes it feels a bit clunky in comparison compared to the B. But after nearly 70k together I'd ride her thru the gates of hell and back and not think twice. The B is a wonderful machine and after 70K I may feel the same about her too, however my 1800F and I have been thru hell together and she's rarely given me pause. She fit like a glove from the first ride and within a week it was like we'd been together for years.

VTX's were (and still are) reliable scoots. Never had a problem with my 1300R, other than the head bearings (replaced with tapered)
