I have been looking into a TPMS system but wonder if anyone has had an issue with the sending units leaking.
My question comes from a bad experience from a more out dated Valve Stem cap that would change color when the PSI was low. That Valve cap was only good when you could bend down and look at the Valve cap (ie: before a ride), if you saw a Red indicator your tire was low. My issue was the Cap them selves would leak over time.

I don't have a phone that will monitor the system thru Blue Tooth and I really don't need any features other than an audible alarm if tire PSI drops.

I haven't had any leakage issues with my SteelMate TPMS sensors. I am satisfied with it.

I would further recommend that you install T-Valve stems if you decide to go with an external TPMS. That way you won't have to unscrew the sensor if you have to add air during changes in ambient temp from the seasons:

+1 on the Steelmate and the "T" stems. No leaks with mine either.

Thanks guys,
IF I was to plug the receiver into the 12 volt outlet in the left Fairing compartment, do you think the audible warning would be heard ???

Possibly not. It's audible but if you stick it in that little compartment you may not hear it.

Also.. not only does the Steelmate TPMS reciever give you audible warnings of low pressure, but it will also flash a top or bottom red LED type light (top is front tire, bottom is rear tire).

Thanks,,
I think I goofed and thought the receiver had to be plugged into a 12volt power port. Now after looing at the Steelmate link you provided I see I was looking at a different application that plugs into a power port. I can mount the systems receiver anywhere.

Thanks again.
