View Full Version : Is $13,999 too much for 2015 new standard F6B?

Hi,

I found a dealer that's at least in state with several 2015s and 2016s in stock. The Standard 2015 is going for $13,999 and the Deluxe 2015 at $14,999. I've seen prices all over the place and would like to have some idea to start a foundation. I'm assuming he can not get rid of the 2016s, let alone the 2015s, so I wanted to know if I could bargain any. All conversation has been on the phone thus far. I plan on seeing he in a few days. He said he's not offering any extra discounts on the 2015 (no promos at the moment, no military etc). This price does not include set up, freight etc.

When buying a new car I just ask my credit union for a set amount. I walk in with that amount and either the dealer accepts it or they don't. Is it the same for motorcycles? I haven't had to purchase one in some time.

Your comments are welcome please.

Pay the extra grand. Those are very good numbers and if they are listing that then they will back off maybe another $500.

You walk in with a cash deal, that's worth $500 easy.

15k is a smoking deal on a '15 deluxe! I'd be all over that!

I always try to get many extras instead of lower price on bikes
Helmets, coats, rain suits, glasses and other things you might want after purchase

Come up to Canada, buy a 2015 for 15,000 Cdn. Take it home. With Exchange and accessories, you can make it a deluxe w/ ABS, Cruise and still be ahead...

Thank you for the replies. This gives me some ideas of how to deal with them this week. I'll keep you updated. Will be contacting USAA next.

How much does he add for freight... setup... paperwork.... sometimes a lot of extra profit is put in these numbers. Get an Out the Door price before you go. OTD..... which dealer is it ?

My dealer charged $99, tax, and tags. I do know a lot of recreational type dealerships charge quite a few sums. Especially RV dealers. I've found $1000 in fees.

Any reason we can't have the name of the dealer? :-)

The price quoted is an excellent buy, you will not find a better price within 150 miles, expect to pay another $900 in fees plus DMV fees

Black one at Powersports Ottawa this summer. Gone pretty quick. at that price. Also a 2013 (no cruise) out of the box with 0 kms for 14K. It was gone before I came back off the demo ride.

Wow those are good prices. The dealers in Manitoba still want $20000 for 14's. There's a demo 15 in Wpg for $20000, then you tack on 13 percent tax and its $22600 plus freight and set up charges it's over $23000.
If I can sell my VFR, I'll buy a used one for half that!

Perhaps, but you lucky guys in Canada get ABS and a reverse, in addition to cruise control – the way it should be. That's worth something ...

Can we bring a Canadian F6B to California and register it?
Anyone familiar with the process?
I'd make the ride. :icon_biggrin:

That's true about cruise and abs. I don't get the thinking with Honda why one country gets those options and others not.
I've never had cruise on any of the bikes I've owned. Maybe I'm missing out on something good.
Despite the F6b not being a big seller, I still want one!

I'd make the ride. :icon_biggrin:Yes, if it has a Calif C.A.R.B.(California Air Resources Board) sticker on it or with either of these two caveats. The bike must be used with 7,500 miles on the odomiter or you have to have just moved from Canada to Calif and brought it with you, thus applying for a Calif drivers license and a Calif Pink slip for the scoot at the same time, in this scenario the bike still has to have been registered in Canada first to qualify.

Before you purchase, call U.S. Customs and provide them with the "VIN". They'll tell you over the phone either 'yes' or 'no' if it can be imported into the USA. At least that's why I did for an SUV.

btw, saved 9K making the purchase in CAN.

Call U.S. customs. Provide them the VIN. They will tell you over the phone if it's legal to register in the states. At least that's what I did with a Lincoln Navigator back in 2000. Saved 9K by purchasing it in Vancouver. Smokin' deal.

Anyone with experience on damaged freight items? I just tried to use these prices at my local dealership and they said these were likely units that were returned from a dealership b/c their shipping containers were damaged. When honda gets a large amount of these, they'll auction them off to the highest bidders.
