Does anyone out there use a beaded seat? Here are some questions

1: Do they make a difference as far as numb butt goes on long rides
2: What brand do you recommend
3: What is the best way to attach them to your seat

Thanks,
Chris

1. I give it a 10% improvement in seat comfort (not including the cooling affect) but if your butt is going numb with the stock seat now, the beads are probably not going to make enough of a difference for you :icon_frown:

2. Bead Rider - Ultimate

3. I don't attach it to the seat

It's just like the cooling seats in cars, I use mine year round :yes:
You can also rotate the beaded seat 180 degrees

Pressure points help w/my sciatic nerve issue, helps w/monkey butt and I don't attach it.

half way through a ride I get it out of saddle bag and plop it on the seat for the ride home. That combination works well for me.YMMV :icon_biggrin: cueman

I like the stock seat, but normally after about an hour and A half, I start getting a num azz. I was hoping the beaded seat might help that. Cooling and Less sweat would be a great side benefit.

Use it on longer rides, sit all day on it with no problems, use one on the backrest also. Beadrider is the one I use and I don't attach it, I just put it on the seat and the weight of my body keeps it on.

I got the beadmaster for my ST1300 because of the heat and monkey butt. It helped some with that. One of the things I like about it is the slickness. You can slide your butt around on top of it easily. It allows you to reposition your junk and butt to help alleviate the fatigue over time.

Put a set of BeadRiders on the stock seat before the rally....4632 miles later, its a "+1".
Ability to move, slide etc. Was great on the interstate but I was initially concerned about unintended moving around in the twisties. Turned out not to be an issue.

I got a Beadrider from Stro at the Rally - again, thanks mate.
Installed and have several hundred miles on it.

Dislikes:

Likes:
- softer than than the Corbin seat it sits upon
- under "bits" airflow at > 35mph, mostly from the Baker Handwing deflectors; evaporative cooling is my friend....
- mostly: being able to effortlessly and smoothly slide my tush into proper position to take curves the way I want to. This is bringing a whole new level of smoooooooth to my riding.
No more jerky, sweaty arse motions that look like a very amateur twerk competition upsetting my lean in and forward....

Cheers,
Steve

I made my own. Bought one for a cage at Wally World, laid it on my bike seat to determine the size and shape, then cut the nylon strings in the appropriate areas and started removing beads until I got the size and shape I wanted. Then I threaded an .080 line from my weed trimmer around the perimeter to hold it all together and presto, I had my custom bead rider. I did it mostly for something to do in the garage one rainy day and am happy with the results, however I very seldom use it. Cost me about $10 instead of the $30+ the bike specific ones go for.
