Someone needs to come up with a device with various engine sound wav files that can follow the engine and throttle on your otherwise quiet motorcycle. You could plug it into the stereo like a flash player but also with a sensor to detect rpm to speed up or modulate the wav file. Wouldn't it be funny to pull up next to some loud pipes guys and rev your quiet F6B like a top fueler. Of course you would need to add a lot of horsepower to the sound system.

Playing cards in the wheels? :icon_lol:

Lack of exhaust note is actually a real concern of mine; with this bike. Obviously to help announce your presence in heavy vehicular traffic.

Big Larry's Jekyll & Hyde system is one most excellent solution to this.....
It's on my long term agenda - after I win the lottery I'm heading to Larry's and we're gonna install that sucker.
Cheers,
Steve

Stop drinking so heavily, and understand that the bitches really don't like loud pipes.

 And they don't like spending their entire paycheck on "Pirate gear", just to fit in with their significant other, so he will take her for a ride.

Back seat of my bike is a trunk - no riders. Any woman who wants to chase me better have her own means.
And, oh wait - I'm married.
I'll do what I want, when I want to, regardless of what is in vogue.
And after I ask permission to break open the piggy bank.....lol.
Cheers,
Steve

I had a set of loud pipes on the M109R and bought this bike so I could have and be able to listen to nice music rolling down the road and not have only the pipes to listen too. One very prominent reason I bought this bike and took the black loud pipes off of it for the quieter 2014 chrome ones, Understandably loud pipes alert those cagers to your presents but they get old in a hurry when that's all you have to listen too. Are the black 2015 OEM mufflers that much louder than the chrome 2014 mufflers?

No, they are not. They have a bit different tone but are not appreciably louder than the 14 and earlier. It was one of the things I wanted to pay attention to at the AreKansas rally.

You are looking for the equivalent of the Soundracer V8 or Vroombox.

And check out this last link for an electric vehicle product. Unbelievable.

If the thought of Harley sound inters my mind I twist the throttle and it quickly goes away.

I realize this is not an option for some, but I have both. I traded my ST1300 to get the F6B, and I still have my Harley Ultra Classic Limited. Best of both worlds. The Harley is for tooling around with the wife (she likes the Harley and loves the high back rest on it), and I ride the F6B 80% of the time solo, and 100% for any longer rides/over night/trips. I get to enjoy both, and I really get to appreciate the F6B when I get back on it. :icon_biggrin: I love that bike. If I could only keep one, I would keep the F6B, and it's not even close.

I've only owned my B for about 3 months. To date, I have 3 negatives on the B vs the FLTRU and some that are just washes between the two. Way too much plastic to remove, exhaust drone, and side loader bags. I HATE the side loader bags! The B's handling, brakes, suspension, power, lack of engine heat, and weight are superior to a stock HD.

With that said, I'm seriously considering upgrading the suspenders and oil coolers on the HD and giving it a whirl. What plastic is on the HD is quick and easy to remove. It handles well for such a large bike, it's just a little more work than the B. The brakes aren't bad and are ABS. The engine has been warmed up, so she'll run with the B. The extra heat in the winter is kinda nice, and with the top box removed, she's about the same weight as the B, and I prefer the top loader bags.

I've got some soul searching to do. I've got 4 scooters in the garage now, and 3 are being neglected. I really like the B, she's a damn fine machine. I just don't know if she's fine enough to get me off my HD permanently.

I figured someone already thought of it. They need a recording of a Boulevard 109 with Vance Hines
pipes.

Had that happen to me a couple of months ago. I was entertaining "a friend ", and we were out in Western Mass on Rt20. It was a winding section. 1st, one Harley comes around the curve, right at the yellow lines. I see him, pull over to the right, then the 2nd clown comes right behind him right where my car would have been. He's lucky I wasn't an old fogie not paying attention. The look on his face was priceless.

Strange, after my stereo upgrade, I did spend an hour looking for Harley exhaust recordings. I figure it would be great for a laugh, but finding good recordings were hard to come by. Perhaps it's because most phones can't record above 95dB.

(1) Me: cobra 6-2-6 with torque loopz=great Sound, no drone, great decel burble, quiet enough to not drown out tunes at speed. unless you got a big inch twin with a cam and a decent header, that hardley will sound like Rosie fawtin into a coffee can on a townhall PA.
(2) Anyone riding the line, car or bike, on a blind curve is just asking for a grill straightening. I always hang just inside the fog line on blind curves. Loud pipes wont save you from stupid or squids festering with skill deficits.

After a friend of mines incident with "outlaw" riders a few years ago and my general intolerance of stupid MV operators of all classes I don't swerve... I refuses to dive off the road to save their lives at the risk of my own. You stay in your lane and I'll stay in mine, put down the phone, turn off the video and ride/drive.
