Looking to replace my rider pegs with floorboards. But....I want black boards.

What is available? Anyone with personal experience?

Full Wing passenger boards. Little sanding and some paint and they look great. Easily disassembled for refurb.

The wife loves hers, and no more feet on the crash bars.

My 2015 Anniversary Gold Wing came with the blacked out boards from the factory. (Just the middle panel that you can see with the boards folded up is black.) I didn't like the look and went with the Kuryakyn transformer boards.

Bought used transformer boards on ebay. Disassembled, sand blasted and reassembled after 5 coats of matte black paint and 5 coats of clear matte.

Out of curiosity has anyone found a more reasonable alternative? My mini boards cost around $100. Passenger boards cost $250. It seems a little pricey when compared to the cost of the mini boards.

I would agree....the Kury Transformer boards are nice, but that price is a killer in view of what they really are. Especially if you're going to have to repaint or refinish them once you get them.

Actually, my '6 is the Matte Silver.....so even better than black would be what most of the vendors apparently call 'Smoked Chrome'. Is there any place around that will do that sort of chroming? (If it even really IS chroming)

Try a Duplicolor Black chrome spray paint kit.
I've done several items with great results.
Less is better, don't over paint.

Krylon Black Metallic spray paint also matches your hand rails and lower engine cowling, pretty well.

This is exactly what I'm doing for mine, killer deal on ebay for full set from 12 Wing.
