Spent 3 1/2 hours to day at the IMS in Minneapols. Hung out around the F6B for awhile. A number of lookers stated if it had had cruise control (when it was first released) "they would have bought one". Hope the 2015 F6B can bring sales. By the way the gray paint on F6B still looked good on Sunday pm.
Here is an excerpt from one of my posts on this thread:
"I used to swap every two years with my bikes so maybe they were just waiting for the cruise on the 2015."
This may be why the current owners are dumping them for the cruise, news at 11
I believe that's check and mate
Spank you very much
Wow, You guys are making me feel bad.......My other Bike is a Vstar.....!
Indian is changing the name of the Scout to the FYH (F#$k You Harley) Honestly, if that Enfield dealer doesn't get going this is a sweet little ride to romp around the city AND it's liquid cooled, technology - it's a beautiful thing. I just saw on TV Carole King is 73, damn. She's reissuing her "Tapestry" album under the new name "It's Cold in here get me a Sweater."
Gentlemen,
Just remember that you own one of the most reliable motorcycle platforms ever built.
Compare it to shoes ... one size doesn't fit all.
Japanese bikes rarely appreciate in value, however there is a cost to play. What you lose in value is far less then what you would be spending at repair shops for years to come with other far less reliable motorcycles.
ENJOY this great Bike, many wish they could have one yet can't afford it. Count your Blessings and be grateful for all of the smiles that this bike gives you. I love my COUCH Rocket and would only get rid of it for a newer model, nothing less.
JUST fill the GAS tank and ride, ride, ride
Nah...it's heel of the palm activated. I don't have carpal, and this isn't a "let go and shake" for too long type thing.
It lets me wiggle my fingers, clench a fist, rotate my wrist somewhat by putting my thumb on the Boss.
But if you need to let go and shake it out for more than a few seconds, this is not the answer.
I'm in the same boat as the value of the 13's has crashed. So this is my cruise control. It's a Breakaway which lets me relax the wrist and I like the fact that it has two ways to unlock with the push of the lever or a pull on the brake handle.Attachment 2603
I bought the Brakeaway, sent it back for one reason, the brake pivot bolt was too short to get the acorn nut on once you attached the L bracket from the unit. Brakeaway doesn't supply you with a longer one. Actually, after calling Brian from Brakeaway he said maybe Honda gave me short ones, which I knew was BS.
I only used the parts supplied to me by Brakeaway.
I really don't remember the details, as it was 7 months ago. It works fine, so I must have assembled it correctly. There are a few others on the forum who have installed a Breakaway. Yours is the first I have heard of any problem.
I just went out to the garage to have a look. The bracket and acorn nut look fine. I pulled out the little bag of leftover parts and Allen keys that it came with. In the bag was a short bolt with a hex head on it. I wonder if my kit came with 2 bolts and I used the longer one? Now you've got me wondering.
I even did a video pointing out the problem, no sound, I don't know why.

Tried to play your video. It says "This video is private".
Well the stock bolt would have a screw head on it so that would be easy. As far as changing the acorn to a flat nut, I wouldn't do it personally as that would be seen, in case something happened God forbid, as altering a Honda stock part to accommodate an aftermarket item.
I checked and took a quick photo.
My stock brake lever slotted screw connects to the acorn nut. I have no idea why yours didn't fit.

I don't remember, maybe was it a nylock acorn nut? Do you remember?
If that's the case, it wouldn't come loose on even a couple of threads.
If not a nylock acorn nut, I think it would have vibrated loose in 3k km of late season riding if just a few threads were holding it on.
Kilometer, what the he'll is that? The back story is the video was private because I called Brian from Brakeaway and told him of the problem and he had no answer for me so I said I would post the YouTube video so maybe someone who had the same problem may have a remedy. He begged me not to do it, strange, so I said I would send it to him privately so he could look at it himself and see if he had an answer. Sent it and never heard from him again despite calling and leaving messages on the answering machine and with the secretary. Strange.
The metre is 1000 times the base unit for measuring distances on this planet, and in orbit around this planet. It originated as a dimension based on one ten millionth of the distance, along a quadrant through Paris, of the distance from the equator to the north pole.
It is easy to use, universal (except for the 3 backwards countries of the USA, Liberia, and Myanmar), and relies on repeatable scientific measurements, not on origins based on non-repeatable human measurements (foot, inch, cubit, etc).
From 1960 to 1983 the metre was defined as 1,650,763.73 wavelengths of the orange-red radiation of krypton 86 under specified conditions; and now defined as 1/299,792,458 of the distance light travels in a vacuum in one second.
You wanted to know. :hijack:
Back to the Brakeaway?
Can't explain why your bolt was short on your bike but like Bigbird has said my bracket went on fine with plenty of thread left to make me comfortable with the install.Mine has been on for 10+ thousand miles(notice I did not use the dreaded K figure). It has been used a lot and has not come loose and works flawlessly.Maybe the owner of Breakaway has a valid point that your bolts were shorter for whatever reason. If this was a common problem on F6B's or Wings you would not have been the first with the problem.I still recomend this one because of the way it can be released by the brake handle which IMHO is a great safety feature for a older slow brain like me:icon_lol:
Hey bigbird as a proud to be American and original member of WAM (We Ain't Metric) I take umbrage with you statement "backwards countries of the USA" God gave me a foot and I use it... to walk and wrench... I do own a Canadian Adjustable Metric wrench:tools1: which comes in handy for...:stirthepot: &:poke:
Now if ya want to talk about weird measurements how about Whitworth. :pbt:
Thankfully we got away from that in 1776.:icon_smflag:
It's 75 degrees Fahrenheit (°F to you north of the border USA wantabees) & sunny,:th_sunbathe:

Americans were trying to join international metric system already . Since introduction of 2 LITER Coca Cola bottle , for over 30 years ( or so ) , US Congress is having prolonged debates with this issue and can't decide , where to go with it and how to teach children , to adopt "such a strange conversion". Just in case keep this subject under "American Exceptionalism" umbrella .
