$2.35 :icon_cool::yes:
$2.12 here in Lubbock today.
Gas in Dallas is around $2.35 per gallon. I have family in the oil business in Midland and the price per barrel of crude is around $65. This is because the Saudi Arabians are exceeding the OPEC quota in an attempt to push US oil companies out of business. The US oil supply is not the issue, its the price per barrel. If the price drops low enough, the US oil pumps get shut off until the price comes back. If the Saudi's can keep the supply high enough for a long enough time, then the US producers will layoff people, sell assets, and even go out of business. Then, with the competition out of the way, the Saudi's can begin raising the price on us again. Its a game of economics. I feel for my family and friends in the oil business as it is a truly dynamic industry.
I wondered WHY this was happening.... interesting !!! I will get some diesel Wed...will try to remember to look and post !!!
Don't know how true some of the reasons for low gas price are now, but although the consumer is benefiting from lower prices the stock market is crashing in part due to low per barrel prices...Ford Motor Co., for example is seeing its stock take a hit, as the market is worried that the higher cost of the new lighter trucks, to enhance fuel economy, will deter potential buyers as gas prices remain low..It is all a game, but I for one own Ford Stock and am getting "kicked in the ass" right now...BTW, I used to fill up my first car for about $4 as gas was .23 cents a gallon!!!!
I remember $.19 per gallon and gas wars to $.17 !!! And no I was not driving !!!
$2.49 a gallon here in Boise at the moment. Seems like every day I drive by a gas station it's 10 cents a gallon cheaper. :041:
Want cheaper gas?
Now, today at Walmart it is $2.09.
As most gas has dropped here in the Empire state, but neat what you guys reporting. I passed the station on my way home today $ 2.98/9. What a bargain
