Morning chaps
Just booked room will be arriving Thursday for a hopefully a great weekend with you all :)
Looking Good :icon_cool::yes:
Since some of you have expressed concerns regarding the Covid-19 Virus... Please bring your own masks.
If you have serious health issues or you are one classified as a High Risk candidate. We encourage that you stay home.
Safety is paramount. Your health is more important.
I’m in at another hotel.
I have been notified by the county health dept that I have been identified as a customer that ate in a restaurant, which had an employee test positive for Covid. I have to be tested and am told to self quarantine for the next 14 days, even tho i have no symptoms. I won't take the risk of possibly carrying the virus and infecting the group. So I will not be attending this year.

For those of you who have never been to this area, the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala tend to become crowded on Saturdays and Sundays. The plan is to enjoy this 120-140 mile loop on Friday. Kickstands up and we all leave the Microtel at 9:00am sharp.
We will have a gas stop along the way, stop at a couple scenic locations, take some group photos, eat lunch somewhere in Tennessee, stop at Deal's Gap for souvenirs and photos, then ride back to the hotel in North Carolina mid afternoon. Ride out for Dinner into Georgia at 5:30pm, arriving at Restaurant at 6:00pm

CORRECTION.... Kickstands up and we all leave the Microtel at 8:00am sharp.
With a couple of stops along the way, it will take us approximately 3.5 hours to reach the BBQ restaurant where we will be having lunch. Trying to have our group seated before the 12noon lunch crowd. 'partysmile'
The Restaurant has a Friday "Lunch Special" which is 2 slices of Pork tenderloin with gravy, Mash potatoes with Gravy and 1 side dish for $6.95
If this is not what you want, you can always order from their standard BBQ menu.
JM - Can you get tested instead of waiting the 14 days? We travelled in June and we tested when we got back so we knew right away
Motels are open and no issues, restaurants maybe take out...I go for the group and the ride...you just have to make it happen! I'll be there on 8-2-20 late afternoon till Monday staying at the Comfort Inn.
Crashed on my bicycle yesterday and broke the bones in my elbow so won’t be able to make it this year. Hope to meet you guys next year. Ride safe.
Yea, how's the bike?
:attention1:
;lightning;
For those of you who have never been to this area... bring a rain jacket.
;sunny;
See attachment
Looking good, only 20% chance of rain
Morning temps in the low to mid 60's, Highs being in the mid 80's .
Let's Ride !!!
Well, I just reserved a room for Friday and Saturday night. Got a meeting Friday morning, I could not put off. So planning on zipping in after my meeting. Haven't decided for sure what I'm riding. Any objections or evil eyes if I come on a Wing?
Never, ever start working on your bike for seemingly simple things before a Rally :icon_doh:
Have had a little trials and tribulations with batteries lately. Got a newly banged up one, and then another replacement of that one. Activated it myself IAW directions; a YTX20HL-BS battery in my F6B. Doesn't seem to want to hold a charge, takes abnormally long to come up as charged on the Battery Tender. Voltage checks at rest show 12.6v but I just don't trust it right now. Just stuck the 5 year old battery back in.
Was going to bring a spare battery with me to the Rally but how redundant would that be?
Was going to replace my rear brake shoes next, and bleed my entire brake system but I'm not tempting fate. I'll do it after returning from Franklin.
Oh, btw are we going uphill on the Dragon this time?
@willtill sorry to hear your bike woes
My bike owes are making me a non-attendee
After waiting a month to get the bike in for (Honda) warranty work and after having the bike for 10 days, still waiting for parts (rear brake caliper!)
Apologies to you all, hope you all have a great time and maybe see you on the next one.
Darren
Tally Ho! See you all in the afternoon!
Bike is fine , it was on my mountain bicycle. No riding anything for 4-6 weeks.
Arrived at the Micro-hotel about 45 minutes ago. Am beat but ready for dinner at the Dillard House. Haven’t eaten anything all day. Hurry you guys!
I just checked in myself. Yes, Dillard House is calling my name as well.
I'll be in tomorrow afternoon/evening. Sorry about missing the first night and day. Couldn't be helped.Business before pleasure.
Jimmy, try to make it for dinner . We depart from hotel at 5pm.
Got home about 4 from the rally, had a great time and better fellowship, nice meeting everyone again and some new people also!
Just got back to the house. It was a grueling two hour ride but I was able to push through.
As always, I enjoyed the fellowship and the great roads that area offers. It was great to see some familiar faces along with a few new.
Johnny-B, thank you for allowing me to take your root beer rocket for a spin. Like every good crack dealer, that first free taste is always the sweetest.
Until next time...
I got home at about 1700hrs. Traffic was surprisingly light on I81 north up into Hagerstown, Maryland, and then I headed I70 east towards home.
I had a really good time at the Rally. I think I actually became a little better at those countless curves we were swooping in and out of for the past two days. My chicken strips are receding. And... the car tire that I was running was absolutely phenomenal in the twistiest. All tire wear stayed on the tread; I had it aired @ 30psi.
Was really neat seeing you guys again. Worth the trip down and back. :smokin:
I got home about 10 after 4 EST. Had a good time and an awesome ride home .
taking the slow route north....BRP today, up to Roanoke for the night
I’ll be home tomorrow morning, saw a storm ahead just before Florida, needed gas so I called it for the night. Four point five hours more. Nice seeing you all again. Thanks for the link Johnny.

Great riding, Great friends, Great weather, Great memories, Great food and several unexpected-unplanned funny experiences.
Will post some photos in the coming days
I Thank all of You that attended, even if it was just a 1 day stay for some.
Washed and PMCS'ed my bike this afternoon. I am very surprised that the brake pads seemingly show no change from all of the heavy braking I had been doing at times; last Friday/Saturday down there. OEM pads are great!
I got home this evening Labor Day, around 1800... two blow outs on the trailer. Changed another in a Tractor Supply parking lot. All good! We had a good time riding with this group again! Thanks!!!
Home last night..2370 miles total. Enjoyed seeing everyone. Hope we can do it again next year.
We will Jim!
And... I was digging your blue lighted voltage digital display gauge on your bike. I wanted to go digital myself with that, but it would take away from the Toyota style Corolla electronic displays that we enjoy on the earlier model F6B's... :icon_wink:
The gauge cluster is actually more akin to the 98 Honda Accord. Just saying, lol.
