Oh my goodness. I was planning to go to the Wing Thing in Huntsville on Labor Day weekend but this is close to my house and looks like fun!!! Anyone need a roommate??? ;)
I was dreading Labor-Day-weekend-Friday-afternoon-rush-hour through ATL anyway!

Any ladies out there looking to share the rent ????
I will split the room if anyone is deciding to go at the last minute
If anyone is heading up on I26 Thursday of let me know. I will be leaving out Thursday morning the week of. If your heading up that way let me know.
Curious about those that are arriving on Thursday, what time are you shooting for on getting there? Also, is there a place nearby that we can buy beer?
No worries, there is a convenience store right next door for your beer purchases (walking distance). I think a group is there early enough for a group dinner. I am sure they will chime in. I think our webmaster (Phantom) usually sends all those details out. Its getting close.
I am familiar with Maggie Valley so on the way in I plan to stop by several stores in the area. There is a great micro brew out of Waynesville that has a shop there and the liquor store prices aren't that bad there either
I am hoping to get there in the early afternoon but that will all depend on if I have to meet anyone along the way and what time I get moving

Hey,
My brother has expressed an interest in joining me for the F6B rally in Franklin... We've ridden the Dragon before and he liked it. The issue is I have a '6, but he rides a Victory. Will that present a problem ?
By the way, I'm bike agnostic... I ride my F6B, a Vic CCT and a H-D FatBob...
As the saying goes, if it has two wheels, I'll ride it !!! (of course there is a corollary to that statement, but that's for anther discussion ! :icon_razz: )
He doesn't want to join if his bike would not be accepted or cause stress / drama....
We just like to ride...
Joe
Joe ..... Everyone is welcomed, we will have other bikes at the event including a couple of Harleys
We don't care what you ride as long as you ride.
If it spits oil and it's real loud .... we ask that you ride at the back of the line :duck:
Could not get a room at HQ(full up) but will be staying down the street a bit. Arriving on the 3rd and looking forward to meeting everyone. Be safe. See you all there!!
This year I plan to bring some tools with me since I am bringing my trailer. Last year we had a demonstration of changing our rear wheel which made me think I wish I had my tools. My plan is to bring tools which could allow people to install new parts they may win or buy at this years rally.
I plan to bring sockets, small impact drill, torque wrench, ratchet wrench set, screw drivers, and my allen set. If there is a tool that you think I may need that I did not list let me know!
:tools1:
Angry :067: and sad :022: to report that there is now two rooms available at the Microtel. Both rooms were queen bed.
My father couldn't go because he decided to go to Hawaii for a month instead, and I'm obligated to attend a "Baby Gender Reveal Party" Saturday the 5th, that my wife offered to host nonetheless! :suicide2: What the hell is the point of another damn party/shower?!? :banghead: Especially one where the males are invited and expected to attend! There's a reason we(males) don't have or go to baby/wedding showers! Getting out of hand these days....:soapbox:
:bsII:
Anyway, enjoy the rally everyone, drink a few brews for me. Maybe next year...
Supposed to work for drugs, alcohol and sex, don't know why it won't work for baby showers! Oh, wait, it will work, but then it works really well for sex too.
Elroy, yep, am married. Kids all grown, but the baby showers and the like continue. I can usually get out of it, but not all the time. What I meant was - If you say "No" to something like this, odds are you will get a "No" in return when you want some ............
Sorry you won't make it.
If my wife told me she didn't want me to go because of a baby anything I might die choking from laughter. She married a biker and knows better than to tell me such... Short of a death in my family I'll be there. She may or may not. She can't make up her mind......Once upon a time long ago my first wife told me that she wasn't going with me to a rally and if I went without her she wouldn't be there when I got home.....I missed her for awhile until I met a woman who rides.......See you guys in a couple weeks..................Dickie
I'm not saying anyone else should be that way. I just made sure my wife knew how important riding the country is to me before comitment....
Ditto on the first wife.:stirthepot:
Same here.
My wife Teresa, who a lot of you have spoken to on the phone would not think of trying to change my priorities on riding. She has been riding riding dirt bikes since she was 10, rode motocross bikes with me the first few years we were married, then quads. Riding road bikes for the last 20 years. She enjoys riding and going on bike trips also, but once in a while wants her own space when I take bike trips. She is going up to Michigan to see her parents over Labor Day weekend while I come down to Franklin. I am extremely lucky to be married to my best riding partner.
We told the same thing to our future daughter in law several years ago who is now our best daughter in law ever. Son has to ride and will go on trips with me once in a while and if she wants to be part of the family she will have to learn to adapt. She loves to ride now and takes trips with us. The new grand daughter has put a little damper on her riding for a little while, but just for this Summer.
We are riding over to an event this weekend in Johnston PA and will be at the Super 8 there for the next 2 nights. If anyone is close to that area stop by and see us. I will have my F6B over there this weekend.
My theory is simple....you can be a fan or a participant.....you can go along or wave as I leave...works for me/us. I also have veto power, I really don't interfere with what she does...but if I VETO a deal...it's over...have only used this once or twice....
See ya in Franklin !!!
There are no rooms available for Sat...but there are 2 rooms for Fri and Sun.......FYI...forgot to ask about Thur
At my last school I was introduced during New Teacher orientation as a biker and they told me that one of our clerks was a lady biker. I asked "Oh does she ride to work?" The reply was "Oh no. Her husband doesn't let her ride her bike to work." I laughed out loud. I wish a man would try to tell me when I could ride my bike. (of course that might explain why I don't have a man)
But yeah, a baby shower? I have frequent shooting parties at my house and had a friend who couldn't make one because he had to go to a Couples Shower. He hasn't lived that one down yet.
Next week will be 23 years of wedded bliss for me and Tracy. In the 3 years of dating before than and until today, I have always told her what my plans were. I have never ask if I could buy a new motorcycle, gun, truck, go hunting, fishing, or ride to california and back (which I did in 2012), or whatever. Honestly, I have no concept of the mentailty of asking permission, as a grown man, if I can do something. Once I moved out of my parents house, all that "mother may I" went away for me. Sorry it that offends some folks but, that's how it is. On the filp side, if Tracy wants to do something, I don't give her and crap about it either. I really think it is based on trust. Don't misunderstand, we love doing things together and we love traveling together too. In my father's house, he wore the pants. I learned that from him.
See y'all in Franklin!!!!!!!!!!
+1 pretty much hits the nail on the haed !!!!!
