...only two forumites showed for the annual F6B dinner during Bike Week?
A lot of politics would be discussed.
Please feel free to elaborate after all this thread is for. "speculation; ideas, concepts, informed comment, maybe even the unthinkable."
Why...most certainly!
We discussed National politics, Florida politics, some city and county stuff - mostly as relates to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Gun laws, recent carry concealed issues, why hasn't Hillary been indicted yet.
Where the country is going, is it following the demise of the motorcycle community or is it leading the way?
We discussed real bikers vs. pretenders vs. those with opinions and have no clue.
Brought up Pelosi's latest bizarre quote and then wondered how she has kept her place in Congress.
Talked about the new faces in Congress and again, what the hell are they doing there?
Stuff like that. It's all goodness.
Fortunately we agree on many base concepts of life so there was no argumentative diatribe, just two guys hanging out with good drinks and good food.
Cheers,
Steve
Based on the information you so kindly furnished are you expecting attendance numbers to fall by 50% next year?
What if...
...trained 7 students at HD earlier this week and 11 more students for the Navy this weekend?
18 new riders born!
What if...
...a sudden outbreak of "free-thinking" and "free-spirited" political debate broke out in the "Off Topic" section?
The politics of Mad$tad, California, and New York. Lol.
I'm SO glad this board isn't so full of stuffed shirts that we can't let our hair down at times.
Y'all keep rocking those keyboards!
Cheers,
Steve
A stirred pot makes a much better stew than a stagnated one.
What if...the Ma..st..d thing became a soap opera? I might get a TV.
So your stirring the pot on purpose. Never saw that coming.
What if.....those leaving California meet head on with those leaving New York? Will they need a white line down the road to avoid bumping into one another?
What if...
...your County Board Chair Called for "Taxpayer Financed Defense Fund for Illegals"?
And What if...
...the reason was “due to dynamic state of federal immigration policy”
What are they drinking/smoking/sniffing in Fairfax, VA?????
What if...
...switching from NGK 6 style spark plugs (the 'standard' option) to NGK 7 style spark plugs (the option in the Owner's Manual for 'extended high speed driving') was the cause of the "cold stumble" on cooler days?
What if when you take off instead of Grandma-ing it you drop the hammer on it. That cures the stumble. JMHO
Actually, my northern friend, no it doesn't.
Maybe in your climate, but not the warmth of Florida.
In fact, if you "drop the hammer" with a lot of purpose, you can actually stall the bike out.
If you feather the crap out of the clutch and roll on some throttle, the bike will still lurch forward, then back. It's truly not a pleasant feeling.
C'mon down - I'll show you.
Steve
Do you think the ambient temperature has something to do with it? Sounds like you think your warmer temps may be a factor. So what about humidity? I've ridden a lot of days in the 40's and no prob. I think my absence of the problem could be that my bike is in a climate controlled environment. My garage never gets below 65° or above 75°.
What if...
...Isleen went to her "spa" weekend yesterday?
She's getting all her fluids & filters serviced & bled.
New plugs (going with NGK 6s, non Iridium, need to establish a baseline)
Investigating a possible leak in the rear pedal brake system
Some minor cosmetic work done on her undercarriage
And then new shoes (E4s - her 3d set))
My dealership is doing all this work. They take care of me.
It is supposed to rain all weekend, so I thought it was a good time before my BIG trip.
Of course, now the sun is out....lol.
Isleen sounds like a very spoiled young lady...:)
By comparison my motorspouse has never seen a spa day, in fact she doesn't clean up very often, she sits sedentary for months at a time, and her seat is getting softer. Even when I manage to get her revved up the ride is over too soon. (ok admittedly that might not be her fault)
What if...I commit to ensure she is cared for properly, as she justly deserves and take her out more often....?
The BIG trip starts in Monument CO where I'm meeting my riding mentor at my sister's house, heads towards the North Rim, then up the backside of CA to Crater Lake in OR, then Hwy 1 to Vancouver.. Heading east to Glacier, Yosemite, Badlands, Rushmore, then to my younger sister in Milwaukee. Then to MI, Toronto, New Brunswick, (Lloyd!). Down to Maine, VT/NH, Finger Lakes in NY and my friend in Quakertown, PA. Then BRP to my favorite hills in NC/TN. Then the KY Bourbon Trail. Or something like that....lol.
Planning about 5 weeks underway. Very limited super slab routing. Can't wait.
What if...
...Isleen is back from her spa "week" and is raring to go?
New shoes (E4s), all filters, plugs(6s), & all fluids.
Going to be a great summer!
Now: 97,500 miles in 4 years and 8 months of ownership.
Probably will be at 110,000 by 1 August.
I love my 'motorized mistress.'
Cheers,
Steve
Hope she responds well. Keep us updated on the new plugs.
What if...
...I'll be 'indisposed' (in a good way) for the next 5 weeks?
Y'all keep on rocking the forums and I promise I'll check in when I can.
BigLarry & Steve 0080 - the Moderator ball is in your court.
Cheers,
Steve
What if...
...I made it home after 3 oil changes, a new rear tire, a Traxxion suspension servicing, and 18,000 miles?
