Remove the Chrome strip from the cover before removing the cover from the bike
No tools were needed on my bike to remove the chrome strip
No problem!
How are you liking them?
got a pair about a month ago, fit perfect and are comfortable using one at a time or both together on long rides ( any ride on highway more than a couple of miles )

Not sure which pegs you purchased, but the black ones are on back order into September. Too late for this season.

I got the silver ones a few weeks ago.
Super easy install.
They integrate beautifully into the bike, look great and feel great.
The Rivco Aero Pegs look nice, but the valve cover issue is a bit disconcerting.
Put them on mine this spring. Love them if you park in a tight spot it will only take one shinwack to remember to fold them in.
When you park your bike in a parking lot to put the Aero pegs back in to the valve cover do not leave them out cause if anything happens that the bike gets knocked over the Aero peg won't destroy your valve cover on the side it falls on. The repair if that happens with the aero peg extended is pricey
