What do you all think?
Interesting mod. HD makes three trunks of varying height, so the rider could choose rear weight and capacity. They are well made and offer rear lighting and radio antennas plus a top rack.
I'm going to use HD's soft baggage on the rear of mine. They slip over the pillion pad and tie to the hand rails and rear rack. One on the pillion seat with a front pad for me to lean against, and one behind on the rear rack. Quick removal for motel stays, easy to carry, and very light.
I think it looks no less tacked on or out of place than the one on a gold wing.
WOW I think it looks good.Great mod :thumb:
Well its only for trips then its off! I like the sleek look without a trunk. But my wife..............she may say different!
Interesting idea. Can you post a picture from the rear of the bike?

Here is the back view.
At least there's no moving parts to break. :icon_lol:
It's functional, that's all that matters! Can u post pics of how u mounted it? I was thinking a trunk for trips would be nice. Smaller, non Harley for me tho.
I will when I take the trunk off when I get back. We used 11 gauge mild steel and fabbed up a bracket. My buddy did most of the work. I have 17 dollars in the material and a couple of bucks in spray paint. Its solid.
I use a Bestem top box for my pizza delivery system.
I just can't get onboard with anything HD on or near my bike. If it was an aftermarket company's tour pack itd be pretty sweet.
The HD Tour Pack "squareness lines" actual goes better with the wing saddlebags than the wing Tour Pack
I turned the picture for you.

You are in luck! Tour Pack
Now you just need to install reverse, navigation and cruise control.
Well dang I was hoping to be the first to do this. I've got a chopped tour (bout 2" less height than this one) that I had on a RK. I thought it would look good on F6B on trips only. But I don't have the F6 yet, just the tourpak. You win. I know I'll like when it happens.
Not bad.
However, I had a Wing. I bought an F6B because I didn't want the trunk. The sleekness was the attraction. If I wanted a trunk, I would've bought a Wing.
Does it handle like a Harley now?
If you are happy, and most importantly, your wife ...then I am thrilled to death ...I also have an Ultra Classic and the pizza box does come in handy....I will post a pic tomorrow of the wife's new closet!!!
Also consider a lightweight aerodynamic GIVI trunk that could be quickly removable. Some come with a universal adapter base. Examples: http://giviusa.com/givi-products/cases/monolock-cases
I already had this trunk for my Street Glide (quick detach) so instead of buying a new one I used it. H.D. tour packs are very nice and my wife likes the comfort. I as well like the slick look of no trunk but functionality over form for an 8 day trip.
When I sold my RG, I kept my tour pak and sold it separately, making some good money. Maybe I should have kept it??
I guess to each his own.
But then again, I have another bike I use for touring, so for those that only have the F6B..........I guess..........if it works for ya..........but it doesn't work for me!
Can you post pics of how you mounted it to the back of the F6? Looks pretty nice back there for those times when you need more luggage space. I assume it can be disconnected quickly. Nice mod and would love to see how you mounted it.
looks better than the stock trunk for sure!
Check out the Corbin Smuggler.

I love the look. Nice job! I took some measurements of the HD King Tour Pak, and at 26" wide, the antenna would practically be underneath the trunk. Your trunk looks like its about 23" or 24" wide, and the antenna is pushed out to the side a bit. Any problems with that?
I'd like to mount the King Tour Pak a little higher so the antenna has enough clearance, or maybe I can re-route the antenna to the box itself. Otherwise, maybe not use the biggest tour pak HD makes. What do you think?
looks great, I may look into a smaller leather tour pack.
I loved this idea, ordered one from Matuza, these are knock offs, a lot cheaper to buy, warning you get what you pay for.when I opened box, one latch was in the bottom of the box. Matuza said they would replace, but I decided to purchase Harley's black hinges and latches. When I was drilling out the rivets for the existing latches and hinges, some practically fell out. I also ordered a Harley backrest as the Matuza one doesn't fit very good and is very hard. Also ordered the retractable cable and trunk liner, all in all I know have a nice trunk with black hardware and it was still cheaper by about 200 bucks over the Harley trunk. I will post pics in a couple of days, we are on the road heading east across Canada and then circling the USA.:icon_cool:
If I were to add a trunk, I would use the HD chopped tour pak for the 2014 model year. It has new lines and would probably flow with the bags. But....it's 800 bucks I think. Currently waiting on my rack, and will use my waterproof duffle for awhile
Sorry to the OP, I don't mean to hijack your thread.
Up until I had a good hard look at a F6B a couple of weeks ago and read a number of reviews I was seriously looking at getting a Street Glide. My intentions with it were to get an after market tour pack and as well as the HD 4 point mounting system to make it easy-removable for the infrequent times when the little lady would be traveling with me. The Street Glide is nice and all but I just hate being one of the 'pirate' crowd.
Here's a couple of links to after-market trunks. Both manufacturers make a chopped version as well. The Power Products trunk is highly rated by quite a few Harley riders.

Just have to figure out how to fab (or have someone fab) a mount.
Hey Batman, how about posting a pic of your mount please. I am going to add a trunk for trips, I just cant get satisfied with current garage full of bags and strapping them down. Thanks
$800 for a trunk . . .
$340 for a trailer hitch. No contest. Besides, no woman ever takes as much as she brings back!
Sorry guys, I forgot all about doing this. I will take the mount off tomorrow and get some pics for you all. It worked vey well for my trip I took to Sturgis and my wife LOVED it!
What do you all think?[/QUOTE]I think my wifes Boobs wouldn't fit. It needs to be back an inch or two. Back boxes are handy but I agree that I left Harley and don't really want Harley parts on my Honda. Funny thing, All my HD riding buddies want to ride my F6B and always come back smiling ear to ear. HD better get busy or they are going to loose a lot of loyal customers like me.
