Soft wraps for passenger rails?

After two days on the road this past summer I realized I'd messed up and scuffed the passenger rails on the bike by letting my Kury bag rest on them without protection. Pic below (taken on Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in Wyoming). I had started out with the bag on the luggage rack but it was off centre due to the antenna (which bugged me) so I moved it to passenger seat -- a better set up for sure but now looking for recommendations if anyone has found a good soft wrap (velcro closure?) or something along those lines that would provide the rails protection on future trips and which has easy 'on-off' functionality. When I saw the scuffing I put a couple folded micro-fibre towels under the bag contact points -- it worked okay but looking for a better option. Still haven't got the scuff marks out; even with scratch remover. The Rok straps are fantastic by the way for anyone considering those.

My bike is for go and not show. I keep it clean but the scuffs or polish marks attest to me using this bike for what she was designed.......go go go.

I hear ya, Stroguy! I can live with the marks that are already there but hoping to minimize future damage. Guess I'm a bit of a fussy pants! :icon_wink:

The Rails have a really fine metallic finish to the paint.

So far I have just used a semi gloss spray paint to just mist the area, let it dry, then I used pledge to remove the access.

So far I'm not happy with it, but I had to try something.
I'll look for some metallic spray paint and see what that looks like.

These aren't meant for grab rails, but they are velcro closure and might do what ya want.

You could try some pipe insulation.

Haha, next year I'm bringing spurs.

Duplicolor has some spray paint that can be applied and pealed off later.....or perhaps carbon fiber look tape

Put some wear marks on mine using soft ties in my toy hauler.

Some great suggestions here I hadn't considered -- neoprene fork covers and pipe insulation. Thanks for the input guys. It's got me looking in the right direction now.

inexpensive and super easy to remove when not needed.

Another inexpensive option could be a tennis racquet replacement grip or overgrip, in black with no logo. These are usually around $5. Easy to put on and replace and feel soft to a passenger.
