Hey folks! let's start to discuss our thoughts on general safety rules while riding an F6B.
Try not to wreck.:nono:
Get your feet off the ground the instant it starts to roll. You don't want to catch a foot under that rear crash bar.
No texting while riding.
If the bike starts to go over, don’t try to stop it. Just get out of the way.
My wife had a slow-speed tip over on her 2014 F6B last August. She tried to save it. Foot trapped under rear crash bar. Ankle broken in three places.
Surgery required pins, screws, and a plate. She’s still not fully recovered.
stop when inputting info into your GPS
F6B's do not like gravel roads. Avoid at all costs.
Always, and I mean ALWAYS watch your rear view mirrors when at a stop.
ALWAYS.
Stop, I mean a full stop at stop signs. Dont know how many times I have seen (usually when a few bikes are riding together) someone decides to roll through because guy in front of him did and then realize its not safe and have to do some crazy maneuver to hold bike up
Keep you head on a swivel. Constant situational awareness!
Get off the damn phone.
IMHO...Remembering that it's heavy and doesn't handle the same a as a bike half it weight, but center of gravity is low and the linked brakes are great.
It generally has pretty good lighting and reflectors all around. Love the emergency flashers.
The indicators on the dash are easy to read at a quick glance and provide more information than most bikes.
My Big Bike Parts aftermarket luggage rack allows me to safely carry a pretty large load.
Not sure the bike could be much safer than it is. My one issue that gets me on a soap box..."Brighter" lights (brake/turn/head/driving) are safer, but Flashing is better. I grab the front brake lever several times EVEN though I've got flashing brake LED's. Flashing lights get more attention than just lights that are on.
Ride it like you stole it. LOL

My personal three rules for riding a M/C that have done me well through the yrs.
1. you and your M/C are invisible, no one can see you! ("I didn't see the M/C, officer")
2. Anyone who can see you is out to kill you! :icon_cry:
3. Never forget rule 1! -:thumb:
Always dress for the fall (and I don't mean the season...)
Never trust a flashing indictor'
Like Larry said, I look at every car on the road and quickly think,
from this position what can and what will this car do to kill me.
make your adjustment with this in mind.
You are definitely the one thing on the road that no one can see.
I always flash my lights when passing trucks and autos. Dont know if it helps
but it cant hurt.
+1. Twice on this bike, watching mirrors at a stop (and staying in 1st gear) have saved me. Both times, I was able to spot the driver behind me failing to stop in time, and pulled ahead between cars. Seeing the car sitting almost bumper to bumper with the one that was in front of you afterward is sobering.
According to my understanding, safety concerns is not limited only with rider's safety, it has also same importance for others. It will be not exaggeration if I say F6B is thrilling ride.
You can't ignore the importance of a windshield when you are riding at 120km/h. It will be more worse when you weren't properly gear up.
Whatever you do, DO NOT GET DISTRACTED WHILE RIDING!

Mind your toes in the twisties. The footpegs are low.
