Looks like a decorative endcap for tubing, to me. Wherever it goes, I don't think it being missing is gonna hurt anything.

Rostra is another, cheaper electronic cruise control that works well. I've installed 3 of them, and each works flawlessly. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend an installer local to your area though.
For your 2013 F6b, it looks like this is the OEM 90 degree valve stem -
VALVE, RIM (BS)

$7.57
Mine is still the original. If it were a full rubber unit I'd have...
Nice! Congrats.
seventwenty - Agree that it seemed to be unavailable for some time...but their website seems to indicate that it's available for order, without mention of unavailability or backorder. That...
Back in 2013/2014, many folks swore by a product called Liquid Glass. I never personally used it, but new of several folks here who did and reported excellent results.
Welcome, Mike!
Agree. Mine still work in the ignition because I never got around to cutting them off shorter to install the knobs. :)
Frye - In your case, you should be able to blink out a code, then. If it won't start, after a 10 second attempt to start, the MIL lamp should blink the code out (the sidestand must be down). It...
I don't think so, SeaSteve. I made copies of mine using blanks from Home Depot (intending to make a radio knob one for the saddle bags one day) and the copies work fine in the ignition.
Adventurous1 - Any update on what you found?
I'd be inclined to not suspect the cam position sensor. When those go bad, the engine will still spin over, but the bike won't "fire"...just spins...
I'm sorry you had to pull it all back apart...but I'm glad that you found the issue.
Are you sure you disconnected the low beams during the air filter/crank sensor work? I've never had to (even when I installed cruise). Any chance bulbs are blown?
+1. That one has served you (and the PO) well...time to retire it. The task isn't THAT bad...it just takes time.
Congrats on having it all done! Woohoo!
My favorite quote from the cam sensor video: "And I thought the AIR FILTER, was a pain in the ass"
