The saddle bag lock can be disabled by disconnecting the left and/or right cable ends from the latch mechanism. You can do one side or both. Simple and easily reversible.

If it was me I'd pull both saddlebag covers and do this. Never have to worry about a scratch again and think it would look good with the matte silver.

Those are the EC Six Shooters. Incredibly bright lights.
Mounted my Darla's under the headlights using the PIAA Goldwing Sport Touring Brackets (Part No. 74008). The brackets had to be modified slightly for the Darla's but mounted to the F6B perfectly.
