Budget Pull behind MC trailer

i have the same one and dressed it up with nice lites - havent pulled it yet but will as soon as riding season starts.

I hope to pull it north this summer on a trip to Canada.

I'm still assembling this one as I have time.
I was going to add a longer tongue and swivel hitch but decided to pull it first and see how it handles.

I'll try to get the hitch and wiring done, maybe dry fit the box, this weekend.

This trailer should only take a couple hours, but I'm kinda ..This will turn out to be a nice little trailer.

I was a member of the trailer towing forum years ago and found great info on trailer builds.
When I built my Trailer about 8 years ago I wanted it no wider than my bike and lockable storage. sooo...

I cut 12in out of the axle and frame of a HF trailer to narrow it to the same width as my Valkyrie Interstate. Also I lengthened the tongue for a more stable pull. The big key to remember is how you load the trailer. You MUST have 10 -15% tongue weight.
I towed it around behind my pick-up empty first to make sure there were no problems. I pulled it thru everything I could think of, over bumpy roads in corners and down the highway at 80MPH for extended miles (because I kept 8" wheels on it I wanted to check the bearings) and felt good about it. The rolling difference from the 8" to the 10" tires wasn't enough for me to worry about the difference in wheel bearings so I kept the 8" and mounted the Carrier over top the wheels and mounted the leaf spring to the bottom of the axle to lower the center of gravity.
Then on the bike for a short 200mi ride, and the trailer was solid. I tow with a Valkyrie Interstate and this is not the first trailer I have towed, just the first I have built!!
measurements are....with a 20ft Sears X-cargo and 8" wheels

40" width fender to fender
36" center to center on tires
69" Axle to ball
16" deck height
36" overall height
96" total length
175 lbs empty

P.S. the white tubes you see next to the wheels are florescent light tubes used for double checking wheel alignment and center points on the tongue.
Also I changed the small cooler to a larger cooler later on.

With that I designed a trailer and was headed that way for a project. Other background is
I also share a really nice Bushtec with a friend, so this trailer was a project, justified by my friend, seemingly using the Bushtec when we want to. Now we have options.
Anyway, to the point. By the time I bought torsion axles with hubs and bearings-seals, all the iron and added a cargo box, the price point of my winter project was $250 bucks plus my labor higher, than this little HF option.
I would have ended up with a better quality trailer, but mo $ sitting in the garage with little use, to coin my CFO's phrase.

For the budget minded, looking for a good quality, reasonably priced pull behind trailer.

I bought one of these just because I needed a project.

With the deep discounts available now, I upgraded to 12 inch tires, and wheels, LED lights, swivel hitch, cooler.

Good quality for the cost. Normally $ 350.00.
If it sits around or someone needs to borrow a trailer, no big deal.

And no more piling junk on the bike.
I know, Bushtec too, but another deal.

I think sometimes it is more about the enjoyment of the build than anything else. I really didn't have a need for a trailer, I just wanted to build one and have for occasional use.

With a bit of paint and some graphics, this little guy should blend in with the bike quite nicely.
Test run at 80 today and it pulls straight as an arrow.
Needs a payload in it to smoothen it out some.
I left all the springs on it as others removed the short over load.
