EOTech HWS - Class Action Settlement

Any of our brethern shooters had any experience with the Class Action lawsuit against EOTech, for the thermal drift reported on the Holograph weapon sights?

I understand that EOtech had a voluntary refund period which has since ended. I've hadn't known of this issue until recently; and I have a EOTech 512 mounted on my AR that I "don't think" has this problem. However, I have not taken my 512 to the extreme temperatures and witnessed the thermal drift issue with it.

I'm half a brain at the moment to sending it to the http://www.fostersettlement.com/?utm...FYKKswodbbwOhA Claims administrator and seeking a refund later with it.

Here's more reading on it: http://www.military.com/daily-news/2...ve-sights.html

Has anyone had any issues with their EOTech's... ???

Given that the point of impact only changed at extreme temperatures,I doubt that many private citizens experienced it.

Also, most people use red dots at close distance were minor POI impact changes are probably mistakenly thought to be shooter error instead of sight errors. All sights of this type have POI shifts at various extreme temperatures. The problem with EOTECH is that they lied to the military about it and got caught.
If you are not part of the solution, YOU are the problem.

Yep. So the hype over it. Which is well deserved.

Though... let your AR sit in the trunk on a hot summer's day and then hit the range with it. When it was zero'ed at a less temperature.

What is most discerning is that it is reported; that the thermal shift is permanent... meaning it won't go back to the original zero once the sight is returned back to the original zero'ed temperature.

    Yup. That Will do it.

You can still get in on the buy back as part of the class action

I used to have both Aimpoints and EOTECHs. I sold the EOTECHs back and just run Aimpoints now.

    Bubberized AR15 Optics

Since I’m returning my EOTech HWS for a refund under a Class action lawsuit against them, I decided to stick on some cheap China optics for now… but these are actually quite nice at a hundred dollars. Laser, Holograph sight and a rifle scope all included. Everything works; these scopes are getting some good reviews on Amazon.com

If it can hold a zero.. I’m golden for a while until I decide on something better and more permanent.

AR15 = Grown man’s Barbie (you can dress it up any way you like)
