To clarify, today Honda uses "alpha" designation in the middle of most part numbers (in the past, Honda used numerical, and alpa/numerica). The alpha (or numeric) designates what model the part was originally deigned for.

For example, a windscreen part number for a gen 5 GL1832 is 64100-MCA-000.
A windscreen for a gen 6 GL1833 is 67110-MKC-A00.

gen 1 GL1000 (1975-79) ... "371"
gen 2 GL1100 (1980-83) ... "463"
gen 3 GL1200 (1984-87) ... "MG9"
gen 4 GL1500 (1988-00) ... "MAM"
gen 5 GL1800 (2001-17) ... "MCA"
gen 6 GL1800 (2018-current) ... "MKC"

Should the new GoldWing be called a 2nd gen GL1800, or a GL1833, or a 6th gen GoldWing, or a MKC ???
What we have is the second gen of the g1800 2012 thru 2017 I would thing there for it would be the 1st gen of
the gl. 1832. I would bet that they will come up with a way for them and us to tell.
