    Recommended route to Hershey, PA?

I think I will use the excuse that I want to see a Tucker in person as a reason to go to Hershey, PA from Rochester, NY. There is one at a museum there.

Any recommended scenic routes through PA?

BTW, I put this thread in this subforum because the Trip Forum does not get a lot of action.

If you are looking to make good time a direct run from the Pa/NY border would be RT15 south. That will run you along the Susquehanna River. It will be scenic at times but a nascar race with cagers in some areas. The mountains of central PA offer some fantastic roads to ride on a bike. Most roads you see on a PA map that are cutting through any State gameland or State forest are ones you want to run if you can. Some good ones I would suggest on the west side of RT15 would be RT144, Rt44, and Rt120. On the east side of RT15 I would suggest RT14,154,87,442, and 487. If you have the time and want to ride one of the best roads in PA you want to run RT339 between Mahoney City and Bloomsburg. This is a hidden gem of a road and it takes you right across a mountain top loaded with wind turbines just outside of Mahoney City. It's recently been re-paved with lots of twist and turns through the country!

Route 15 was my thought as well. I’ve used it going to Canada.

If you have the time head into wellsboro. you can visit leonard harrison state park which is in the grand canyon of pa. then head 287 south to 414 which will take you for 28 miles along the pine creek. Then you could either head into Sunbury and take 147 south to 443east and go by hollywood casino into hershey. or from 414 head into liverpool pa and take the millersburg ferry over to route 147. you would have to call to find out operating hours of the ferry. also route 339 is a great road to ride if you take that road you might want to stop at bills bike barn

Drifter is correct, if you run RT339 you have to leave time to stop in at Bills Old Bike Barn. It's like stepping back in time, a must see.
