    Shinhopples Shingrips +50

I should've purchased these straight out of the gate. Thanks to those on the forum who recommended them. It's honestly surprising how much these inexpensive foam grip covers improve the ride. If I had to quantify, I'd say for me, personally, there's probably a 50% reduction in wrist and arm fatigue compared to stock. Wow. I still think the suspension needs some attention to make it more absorbent, but I'm frankly astonished at how well these work. Thanks again.

Will they transmit the heat from the OEM grips?

Yes, Willtill, but the effect is diminished. As a subjective measure--With the stock grips, I only had to turn the heat on high for 5-10 minutes before they were way too hot for me and I turned them down two or three clicks. With the shingrips on, they stay on full blast and still only feel somewhat warm. They've gone from easily keeping my hands toasty warm, to kind-of fending off the cold. It's an unfortunate trade-off. However, I'm willing to accept it because of the surprising increase in ride comfort.

You're welcome, Willtill. If I remember, you live in a much colder climate than me. If you get these and install, be sure and report back what you think. Your tolerance for cold is likely MUCH greater than mine so it will be interesting to hear.

    I have these

    http://www.cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/...s/318814/15395

They transfer the heat from the grips well. They do take a little longer (1-2 min?) to heat up but once warm I keep them at the same level as before. I have about 12k miles with them so far and they are ready to be replaced.

I prefer these (or Grip Puppies) as well. Transfer heat well and make a world of difference for a comfortable grip. Have them on 3 bikes and they last me 2-3 years. Tip for installation - put a towel or paper towel under the grip area to absorb overspray and then spray the existing grip and the inside of the foam grip liberally with non-aerosol (like a pump bottle) hair spray. They will just slip on. Squeeze the grip with the towel to absorb excess hair spray and let them dry for 20-30 minutes. If you don't have any spray, you can pick up a travel size spray bottle of TREsemme' hair spray (or something similar) for about $1.50 at Walmart or Target or similar stores.

If you have an air compressor available, start one end of the foam grip on the bars, place an air nozzle between the grip and the foam grip and apply air while pulling the grip on

Should take about 2 mins to install both sides, removal is much faster

I also have the Shinhopples, made a huge difference in comfort

I have not noticed any difference in temperature with the heated grips

3 years/10,000 miles and the grips look brand new
