    morning

It has been hot recently around here and that does take some of the fun out of two wheels (pun). Headed out this morning before daylight so I could get some miles in while the temps were still in the 70s. Found myself on the island while the sun was trying to come up and I call it a useful ride for what I needed. Yep!

That's the kind of morning I would like to see on my first day of retirement. One of God's best!

Santa Rosa Island between Pensacola Beach and Navarre. Miles of protected no development beach.

Hey 2 wheel, thought I recognized it in your picture, I spent 15 spring breaks with my kids in the Destin/Navarre beach area. Would always rent a condo on island. That is one of the most beautiful natural areas in Florida that has spurned commercial development and is just a treasure. My buddy and I used to get up early in morning and ride just before sun up over to NAS to watch the blue angels take off. That is something to
see, my kids still talk about it.

Nice. Very, very nice. Love that area. About 30 years ago a group of us would spend a week down that way. Boating, skiing, hanging out, eating fresh shrimp (we would see the boat coming in and go down and get it right off the boat), a meal or two at "Ma" Hopkins boarding house (it was open back then, and just awesome southern family cooking and serving), and other fun times.

Great photo and lots of memories!!!!

Wow glad to hear some of you have a connection to the place I call home. Kokomo, a early ride along the beach and watching the Blues take off are both things that will give you chills in a good way. My Wife who travels a bunch visited Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes last week, I read you say something about you going there. I have google earthed it to take a look, we love state and federal parks. F6Bster, yes Hopkins is now closed and was a fantastic place to enjoy some country food in a family style environment. McGuires Steak House purchased the secret recipe and now serves Hopkins Fried chicken on Wednesdays for lunch. Looking forward to seeing some of your Rockies this August.

Yes watching the Angels take off from a land based runway is a must see for anyone. Sleeping Bear Dunes was great last week, but cool , left Indiana in the 90's and got to Michigan where it was 50-60 degrees
as Alberto went through and pulled Canada dry/cool air in. Three must do's when going to your area are Breakfast in Pensacola Beach. Lunch at Lambert's, in Foley, (home of the throwed Roll) and of course SEA Food
at Casino's in Biloxi! They lose money when my crew comes in for shrimp bar!
