    It's delamination aka the damn thing came apart. It should not have happened. I bet it may be a very old tire, run low on air at sometime, near flat. Happen on a '2006 FJR I brought in '2012 w/ only 1700 miles on the bike. It had stones (I think) & the front tire came apart from old age. On went the AVONs w/ beads. Bike was wicked fast. If my memory is correct, it was 1300cc w/ 144hp, right at 600#

    So the consensus of what I read so far, is that the tire was abused.

    Be interesting to hear the history on this tire, But I can tell you I will never drive one even close to this point. Maybe the pilot was a motorcycle newbie, because the pilot needs to understand he was very near a death wish experience.
