Rick's Rides Episode 8: Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap

After replacing his suspension at Traxxion Dynamics in Woodstock, Georgia, Rick tests the upgrade out by riding up to the world famous Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap. He's never been to Tail of the Dragon, but always wanted to.

Before hitting Tail of the Dragon, Rick explores the surrounding roads, including Moonshiner Highway 28, and discovers a pleasant surprise!

Rick, really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. I have done the dragon a half dozen times but not in the last five years. May have to put it back on my to do list. F6Broy

    Hi Rick
Nice video, thanks for posting. Couple of questions...
What time of year did you ride?
How did you get the road to yourself?
I would like to plan a visit but have heard horror stories about too much traffic and crazy riders. Your video certainly doesn't support that! Looked like a great ride to me.

    Thanks again,

Looks like early-late spring... no leaves on the trees yet... no fall leaves on the road. I have been to the Dragon 8--10 times, best to avoid weekends. Also many people take their summer vacations in that area. Most weekdays the roads have a small traffic count.

    Thanks all for your feedback!

WEG, I was out there in the beginning of April. The day I rode the Dragon for the video was midweek...a Thursday, I think, and it was pretty quiet. People in town mentioned to us that it was one of the slowest times of the year. I actually went back over the weekend (Friday and Saturday) and it still wasn't too bad. Definitely more cars though. Hope this helps!
