    Center stand use

How often do you put your bike on the center stand? Of course I do for maintenance, but I typically put the bike on the center stand after every ride. Recently, I've been asking myself why, as the older I get, the heavier this thing feels. I use good technique, and it's not hard for me, but I have just recently been wondering why I do it. I think I used to believe it was better for the weight to be off the tires, but here in Texas, we can ride almost year round, so the longest I might go without riding is a week or two, even if just for a quick ride.

I believe I am going to start using the center stand less often, unless someone has a compelling reason to continue using it so frequently.

I always park my bike on the side stand . . . but . . I put it on the center stand at least twice a week to check tire pressure (I ride every day).

More room in the garage during winter storage. With the bike on its side stand, I cannot easily back my car into the garage alongside the bike. On the center stand, I get another 4-5" of space (estimating).

I use it quite regularly, especially when parking on something other than level. I find the kickstand keeps it a bit 'too' upright in a lot of situations. Makes it easy to push over.

Oh yeah, what triggered me getting the center stand was the fact that I need to replace the front tire. Not easy without a center stand or jack.
