Adventure helmet = cure for sun glare?

Looking at adding another helmet to the fleet.

I ride east, into the sun, on the way to work and west to get home ... into the sun. This time of year is fine, but other times of the year the glare is terrible, even dangerous at times.

My Schuberth C3 Pro has the internal sun visor - not good enough. I have tried sunglasses - not good enough.

I see Schuberth has an E1 model ... an "adventure" bike-type helmet. It has a peak visor for blocking sun glare.

I may want to try one. Any advice?

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of your link DOT rating and E1 is no longer being imported into the US. After sales support by the manufacturer may come into play if you need repair parts.

Just checked - I read that as Schuberth is no longer importing ECE rated helmets to the US - as in, the DOT certified model is the only one available.

I faced the same problem.
I purchased a 3/4 nolan n40 definitely helps.

I put a wide piece of electrical tape or "stick on" vinyl, on my face shields, bottom is about even w/ my eye brows. Just slide your fingers down until they just start to come into view, make a mark, tape or vinyl from the mark up. I tip my head down a little & can ride directly into the sun. Works for me...... "back in the day," when I was racing boats, all the racers had a strip of vinyl across the top their face shield.... it only cost a few strips of electrical tape to try it. Note: if it's always in your line of sight & bugs you after 2-3 miles, you might have it a tad to low.

Try some electrical tape first, not everybody likes it.
I found some hi quality 3M (looks like) carbon fiber stick on contact vinyl on ebay. A little heat from a hair dryer or heat gun makes it EZ. Seems like it was less than $16 bucks. I run mine from 1 side to the other.
