Anyone tried the Chinese knock off carrier rack?

I often come across the Chinese knock offs that look similar to the OEM on eBay. Anyone ever tried one? I know you get what you pay for, but it's just a piece of steel. I already have the OEM backrest, wonder if one of those is just bolt on from there?

I wouldn't even think of buying a Chinese product if I had a choice.

Call me an old fashioned patriot but I check every label and will never knowingly buy anything from a country that dropped a biological weapon on the rest of the world and America.

I've read reports elsewhere that the steel is much thinner. Seems like something that has the potential to break off, damage the bike, damage the cargo, and potentially damage someone else in the process. Super cheap upfront cost, super expensive downstream.

It will probably have a built in bugging device.
