March 9+60 degrees in Wis = 1st Ride

Usually on the 9th of March we are not riding in Wisconsin.
But this year the roads are dry and it’s 60 degrees Time to Ride!
A little over 100 miles today
Here’s a picture of a road that runs into frozen Lake Winnebago we did not cross the lake.
But a few days ago there were cars and fishing shacks opt there.

Are your roads still salty? Or has rain washed them clean?

I am ready to ride myself, the roads are cleaned of brine and salt.

It always freaks me out seeing people and vehicles on a ice covered lake. What if they find a spot (or a spot finds them) that breaks through? How often does that happen on Lake Winnebago?

The roads are pretty clean we had a little rain to wash the roads, I usually wait for the rain to wash the roads better but it was too nice not to ride.
I live about 50 miles away from Lake Winnebago but cars do drop in once in a while but in the middle of winter it’s pretty safe, it looks like a village out there. I have never been on it.

Finally a good rain, (Wednesday), washed most of the crap off the roads around my area. Maybe temps near 60 today! Will be riding again. Cover is off the F6, tires are filled, but at 7:30 am, it's still 27 degrees. Should be warming soon, sun is out. Can't wait!

Out for breakfast then up to New Richmond for a swap meet. By then the temps will be great for a ride.
