If anything, the first gear became a lot more useful. Our engine has so much torque to spare off idle, I can still creep out without giving any throttle if I had to.
But again, my bike is a lighter F6B, not a full dresser. I’ve read people with full riding two up on full dressers also love the newer taller gearing of the Henry’s final drive.
Here it is for the guys who feel they want their engine to run less RPM at 70 mph, Ya just change the rear differential.

The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot -
the guy who invented the second one... he was the genius!

As I remember my 1984 V65 Sabre had a numeric gear readout as well as the the OD light. It also had self cancelling turn signals that worked as poorly as those on my F6B.
I have a gipro gear indicator on mine. It is red lights and I am mostly happy with it. I have it mounted behind the left speaker grill and I can see it pretty well. My only gripe is that if the clutch is pulled in the indicator goes blank. Nothing major...just annoying.
I would REALLY like to have a 6th gear on this bike as well. Its got plenty of power. It would definitely be nice to see the rpm a bit lower at interstate cruise speed

I have a Valkyrie rear tire (180/70 x 16) mounted on my spare rim, and will install it as soon as the current tire wears out. It will increase the diameter by about 3/4", which will drop the revs a bit. I'm interested to see how the increased ride height and lower RPM works out.
Hello 98valk, did you have the same drop in rpm with going with the 195/55 vs the 180/60?
No, I don't actually use a 195/55 tire. I am using a 180/65 tire.
I wrestled over the math on tire sizes and they never worked out quite right. Someone mentioned measuring rolling circumference. When I did that, the numbers checked out. My rolling circumference was about 1" less than the math. It's going to depend on the actual size of the tire regardless of the numbers, and the air pressure and bikes weight.
Nonetheless, your numbers look right.

Okay settled , I rode it side by side with another f6b yesterday, and my numbers are the same, so no change from stock, all good, happy with it.
