I had issues with paint chips from road debris on my VTX and Valk so I installed a clear protective film on vulnerable areas and it helped. A lot. Can't use it on matte paint so I found this peel n stick film on Amazon. I got the Matte Metallic Charcoal. It matches the paint extremely well, to my old ass eyes anyway, and protects the areas that may get chipped.
I put it on the leading edge of the front fender, on top of the bags where I’ve hit it with my shoes wile getting off the bike, on the gas lid and sides of the shelter and on the front of the fairing. It is more noticeable in the pics than in person.
