    Luggage fitment

    Hi guys.
I'm planning a long trip and I'm trying to find the best bag that fits the rack and the backrest. as you all know, the passenger backrest is oval and is hard to find a bag that fits. I will take another bag that fits perfect on the passengers seat that I used before, but I need another one for the rack that would carry some of the stuff that I would use daily and a weekend bag is not big enough.
Thanks for any info you can share.

Here's what I'm doing, leaving June 5th for a 3-4 week x-country, using the $30 Hart stackable medium tool box. I have the MP3 Rack, but I'm sure it'll work with any rack. Bolted to the rack it is waterproof, lockable and stackable. I had the smaller box, which I will use for easy access to maps and camera equipment, coffee making gear etc. The great part is after the trip I unbolt it and have another tool box. If you purchase an expensive top case the you'll only use when you do long trips or you could leave it on but we have the F6B because we didn't want a top case. Anyway, just an option

Hi guys. Thanks for all the help. I actually, specially due to time constraints, decided to buy the BR3400 Saddlemen back seat/Sissy Bar bag. I would like to know if anyone has one of those on their sissy bars and if they fit fine. I called the manufacturer and they told me the space that wraps around the passenger back rest is 13". The width on mine is 12.5" so it should fit perfect, if the info is correct that is. That should give me plenty of space for what I need. I have been looking at videos and is really hard to tell whether it fits or not because every video is for Harley bikes with no sissy bar or with smaller backrest. I haven't seen a single video of an F6B with one of these bags.

I read your posts and you seem to be really focused on attaching the bag to the passenger backrest. I think you'd be surprised how little wind hits back there behind you and the windshield.

IMHO...The bottom four metal D rings should allow attachment DOWN to the luggage rack. If you "at a minimum" attach the two forward most corners of the bag to the front of the luggage rack, the bags not going anywhere. Adding the backrest strap really just keep the bag from slipping around a few inches in all directions.

These bags comes with tie down straps but I've changed to Velcro straps that loop back on themselves. Even found some with metal clips that I attach to the D rings then wrap the Velcro around the attachment point on the bike.

I have another bag that is going to be on the passenger seat. I used that bag for a country trip but the other bag that I had is gone now. I was on a VTX 1800F back then. I use a bag on the rack on the F6B but is not big enough, and I don't really want to go the way of top cases right now, so I hope the BR3400 works well.

Unfortunately I have the OEM rack and I don't think the box would fit on it.

You're probably meaning the OEM rack. I have the Show Chrome luggage rack that's wider and I "LOVE" the Nelson Rigg NR-300. It fits perfectly on the larger aftermarket rack but would still fit on the OEM version also. The straps on the bottom are in the right places to hold it in place AND quick to release. I wouldn't trade it for a trunk if you paid me.

No it's the MP3 Luggage Rack which you can't get anymore, except used

Taxfree4, I was responding to the OP when you and I posted at the same time. You may have the MP3 but I "supposing" Perohijo has the OEM rack.

The look of MP3 is cool but I like the versatility of the Show Chrome rack. I've wrapped ROC straps and bungies in some creative ways to this rack.
