    Full maintenance on my 2015

I purchased my F6B in 2017. It had about 6,000 miles on it and had recently been serviced. It now has 32,770 miles on it (I have other bikes, and pretty evenly split my riding between them). I change or have the oil and filter changed every two years.

I have had exactly zero repair problems with the bike, but figured it was time to do a full fluid and filter change, even though the bike runs great. I am not mechanically inclined. An oil change is about my limited mechanical skills, so I took it to my long standing one man shop motorcycle mechanic. I suggested that we should change the air cleaner, plugs and coolant, which to my knowledge were all originals. I also figured that it was time to change brake and clutch fluid and the rear gear oil, and since he had it do the oil and filter change. He agreed with everything I suggested and ordered the parts.

I left the bike with him yesterday morning. About 4 in the afternoon I went back to his shop to see how it was going and stuck around to watch him finish putting the bike back together after replacing the air filter, which was dirty, but not completely plugged. He estimated I could have gone another 10,000 miles on it with no problem, but putting in the new one was worth the effort. The plugs still looked almost brand new, but since we had the new ones we used them (I'll keep the old ones, just in case I ever need them)

There was a surprise when he removed the spark plug cover. It seems that a had been using that area for food storage. How the hell a ever got in there beats me, but it sure did.

He flushed the brake, coolant and clutch fluid. The coolant over flow tank was completely empty.

It was 6 hrs labor plus parts and fluid, so not an inexpensive project, but I figure that the bike is good for at least another 30,000 miles. And at the riding I'm doing these days between both bikes, I'm good for another 5 or so years.

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Evening on this Thanksgiving Evening. Nice getting all of that work done. I just had mine done last month but no mice though so no roasted nuts That is pretty amazing where they can get to. I bought Stinger in 19 and divide up her riding time with Renegade - my 98 Valkyrie Tourer. Isn't it fun!

Farside, my F6B replaced my Valkyrie. I had the big Valk for about 5 years and loved it, but once I got the F6B I found that I was spending most of my time on the F6B, so let the Valk go to a good home where it would see more use.
