Thanks for posting this. It's a sobering summary of the American sentiment regarding our military and the protection of our freedoms. Not to start something here but the decline in support and appreciation for our military comes from the "top" and until we see dramatic changes there, nothing will change (just my .02 of course). For one, I appreciate and respect our military and those who serve.

Successful people build each other up. They motivate, inspire and push each other. Unsuccessful people just hate, blame and complain.

Thank you sir for posting this. Military academies are the finest education available and they even feed and clothe the students. Chelsea Sullenberger the pilot that landed on the Hudson graduated from the Air Force academy.

Sadly this goes along with the rest of society where 52 % are riding in the wagon. The other 48% are pulling, so realistically of that figure would come the heroic men and women who choose to serve. There are many ways to serve this country I believe everyone should serve at least two years…it would be amazing the changes this country would see just from this change. In the recent conflicts many service personnel were deployed many times as there were no new recruits to deploy. Now there is a draw down under way to release at least 110,000 from the Army alone. With advances in weapons/ drones alike there will be less men and women needed. It is probably a good thing as few and fewer chose to serve.
