    Pulling the trigger...

I know it's always an individual's preference, but looking for feedback from former GL1800 riders.

I'm making ready to pull the trigger and make my F6B purchase! I've loved the look of this bike since it first hit the pavement, and I got to take one for a test ride and LOVE IT! (Does remind me a bit of my '08 Street Glide - LOVED that bike, too -when it wasn't in the shop!)

I've logged just over 30,000 miles in 2.5 years on a 2010 GL1800 (comfort model) aka Battlestar - the Cadillac DTS of motorcycles!

I know there's "work-arounds" to every situation, but am I gonna miss the flick of a vent to have warmer toes; the sound of "precipitation in the area"; having reverse when no one is around to give me a nudge; and having an onboard Navi backup (I generally always use the Zumo550); and continuous XM radio controls at my fingertips?

I do love the handling of the F6B - it's got definite ear-to-ear grins and "giggle factor" ride feel. I know the mods I want already for it and have them worked into my purchase order.

Any other GL1800 riders who've gone to the F6B truly "miss" any of the "extras" and just love the feel of getting "back to basics"?

    TIA!

    TeeJay

As an owner of two GL1800 full wings prior to the F6B, after adding a taller windshield, there are none of the other whistles and bells from the full wing that I cannot live without. The F6B is just so much fun to ride. I have owned mine just over a year. 16,500 miles later, it was a great decision to exchange my '12 Wing for my '13 F6B.

    Welcome!

I am not a convert, but some do say they miss cruise control.

There were some prior threads on this, but I'm only able to locate one that's 'relevant':

Others with direct experience between the 2 will chime in shortly,,,

Successful people build each other up. They motivate, inspire and push each other. Unsuccessful people just hate, blame and complain.

I will echo what Texas TC said, with small differences. I have had 3 of the GL-1800 Wings, slightly over 330K miles on the three bikes collectively. I have had my F6B for less than 11 months, and have slightly over 22K miles on it, and it is everything I want it to be. Yes, you will make some changes and additions to it, but it does outperform the full Wing, is a hoot to ride, and you can modify it to fit you to your own needs and pleasure.
