    Cool Radar Detector

Has anyone installed a radar detector on their F6B. I have an escort 9400ix that I use in my car and I would also like to use it on my F6B. I have a few ideas of my own but I would like to see some of your ideas. Thanks guys, wild man

I tried 3M Tape but it gets so hot in AZ that it gets soft and the detector can dislodge.

I actually drilled 2 small holes in my windshield and used small bolts, screws and washers. It rests on the dash a little too. I did use some 3M tape against the windshield to cushion the washers and the mount.

I always have my Escort 9500ix in my vehicles and it has paid for itself many times over.

I bought an extra Escort Mount and Power Cable on Ebay and attached the wires to one of the electrical accessory connections under the left accessory door.

I also use a small elastic band to keep the connector from coming loose from the plug. It's like a phone plug and the catch breaks real easy.

Had it this way for almost a year and it works great. I can't always hear the Sound Alert but the visual is easy to see just below eye level.

    Ram Mounts

I use the magnetic ram mount RAP-300-1U to mount it to my handlebar. Easy on and easy off. Its kind of hidden there rather than
to put it on the windscreen. Its probably more secure than a windscreen mount, too.

I don't like things on my handle bars. As for the windshield, I drilled holes and mounted it through the windshield - nothing is more secure than that.
I already had an Escort, when it dies maybe I'll try another brand.

Beware - Escort Passport, although they are excellent, have a cheap speaker that will go out. The company is aware of it but other than paying to replace it over and over, that's just they way they are.
I never could hear it too well anyway with my pipes and music playing. Mounted on my dash, the lights alert me just fine. Saved me many dollars.

Me too, ran the LED indicator under the dash and mounted it above the gauges with dual sided tape.
