57, on my 18th motorcycle since learning to ride at age 12. Grew up on the back seat of my Dad's HD's. Bugged him until he gave me a 125cc HD Rapido. Been riding Wings for last 20 years with a few other models mixed in. Often had 2 bikes but now just the F6B.

My take on the bike nights & bike shows are that they are for the "jack & polish" riders. As in polish the bike then to it.
I do not believe that 2 wheeled vehicles should be reduced to passive works of art by adding so much bling.
Having said that, I do own the Guggenheim "Art of the Motorcycle" book. But that's at another level.....

More practical? No. If you were "practical" you would have bought an Elio car at 87mpg.
As you stated, you want to ride and you found the ideal platform to do that.

    See you in Franklin?
53 I like bike nights. Even if its 90% HD u still enjoy looking at another mans creation. My bike is always ultra clean. I don't ride dirty MCs. Unless its a dirt bike. Nothing wrong with being proud of your bike and keeping it nice for others to look at. A little bling never hurt anyone.

...roger that. Nothing against clean bikes. Nothing against some guy with a lot of coin looking to bling out his bike. But don't take offense when someone asks "how much for a girl, overnight?"
And? Let's not get started on the "creations" from American Chopper and the rest. Yeah, they're cool to look at for a few minutes and then, "next."

Now, if you put a blower on it? Or do something really technologically cool? Now you got my attention.
Just me, perhaps. I've always been off the beaten path of "the latest fashion" and what money can buy. Too much regimented living, I suppose.

I am 54 will be 55 in a few months and I am picking up my brand new Black 2013 standard this Wednesday. I'm calling it my early retirement gift. I have been riding Harleys the past 20 years.

No, Larry no big Hondas. I had a couple of 750's in my teens and early twentys, I also had a Kawi 900, and a LTD 1000. The rest were Harleys.
