    MAYOR'S BIG DOG RUN

Last week I had the opportunity to participate in a fund raiser ride. This was for college scholarships for Veterans. It was a non-stop Sheriff escorted ride. Now I DO NOT usually go on rides like this, too many amateurs and all but they were taking us out to Luke Airforce base and they were going letting us take our motorcycles and rip down the RUNWAY! How cool is that? Once in a life time opportunity, I just had to go! This ride was advertised by Cyclerides.com here in Arizona. Barry Caraway is the guy behind Cyclerides and these videos are taken by him. I am about 5 bikes behind him. I will post some pics when girlfriend finds her download cable. SHEESH! After the run down the runway we headed south and rode through many cities where their police force had ALL intersections blocked off. There were fire department ladder trucks with extended laddders across the rode with American flags hanging from them that we got to ride under. There were all kinds of people stopped and waving to us, it was as a very moving ride to say the least. After riding through Avondale our next part of the ride took us to Arizona Cardinal Stadium (Indoor Football Stadium) we then got to take a lap INSIDE the stadium! WOW! Never get to do that again either! Then we rode over to a place called Gateway for some BBQ. It was a great ride and we raised allot of money and I am sure glad I went!
Below are the two videos of the bikes going down the runway and taking a lap inside Cardinal Stadium.

Thank you sir for an out standing post. I have included a link about the magnificent personnel stationed at Luke AFB. There is a similar annual event planed in Kokomo, IN this Sun. It's titled ride for the troops.

YES! I remember this very well. I could not believe this person sent a letter like that. I was very proud of the way it was handled though.
I served from 1976 to 1982 US Navy and I see you are retired Army. I thank you sir for your service!
