That's a sweet looking rig there. What is the size? Looks like about 4-6 gallons. That should almost make your bike run nearly 500 miles. So cool.

I think you're spot on about the size. I thought I read on the Ironbutt website that total fuel capacity is limited to 11 or 12 gallons; so 6.6 plus 4-6 would put him right at the mark.

I guess traveling through parts of the mid west, where gas can be a bit sparse at times, having the extra petrol is nice....but after 220+ miles on a 6.6 gal tank, I'm ready for a stretch and a bio-break.
If I'm not feeling the "need?" Odds are I'm dehydrated.

I just went out and tried to figure out how the heck you can put two helmets on that short cable.
The one that is supposed to secure them into the helmet lock.
Someone please explain how this is even remotely possible.

No idea why the double images. Pain in the ass to do this from my phone.
That is way cool. When you fill up, do you fill both tanks independently or just the back tank which fills the OEM tank in the process?

Run one end loop through each helmet D-ring. Next run the other end loop through the the first loop and synch the cable lightly. You'll have enough cable slack to place the end loop in the helmet lock

Holy crap Bob that is waaay too obvious.
Sometimes all I can do is sit back and laugh at myself.
This is one of those times.

    A different cable...

The "other" Steve had a great idea...using one of these:
    Attachment 14291

You can get them for free.
It keeps us "children" safe by keeping our helmets secure until we need them.
The cables are supposedly secure enough for a firearm.
The cable has a nice plastic coating on it.
    Yeah, it's another key....

    Just a thought....

I was all for getting my IBA patch & whatnot, until I started looking at all the fees and crap. It just didn't mean that much to me after that.
I proved it to myself, and that's all that matters these days. I don't feel the need to be a billboard for anyone.

Exactly why I did not do it.
