I know this is not going to be practical for everyone. But thought someone might be able to use the idea.
I already have a remote controlled alarm. So, I put in a motor with a gear box to turn the lock back and forth when the alarm is set and reset.
It takes a motor (with gear box), two limit switches and a control board. There are already some handy indents for the limit switches. The control board has current and time limits built in.
It needs to be time tested, but so far works as planned.
Here are some pics:

One more thing. I still need a key in the lock to work. But, now it can be more of a plug.

On the dash. Ran the wires under the box and out the speaker grill.
Drilled a hole in the bottom of the cubby, ran the antenna wire and sealed hole with a grommet.
Car size antenna seems to receive much better than the smaller version offered with 8ft. cable. Sounds great for radio.

If interested, here is some more info on the bag locks.
My first motor stripped out the gear box immediately. This one works:

I used these limit switches, but would try and get better ones next time:

The spring is one I had laying around. It needs to be pretty hefty. It should be pretty tough to hold it in your fingers and turn 1/2 turn on each end. You'll have to experiment to get the right length.
For the control board, I used surface mount components that I had laying around. Many substitutes will work. Try and get low resistance fets (the "P" is for p-channel and "N" is for n-channel).
Not included in the schematic is a 10ohm current limit resistor right off the 12v. My circuit never pulls more than 200ma.
Here is the schematic:

The 12v needs to be hot all the time. The input to lock and unlock the bags should be 12v and 0v. I used the power to my proximity sensor circuit as an input to this control board.
Hope this helps.

Had the end caps of my Cobra pipes sandblasted and then ceramic coated the ends black !!! All because of the poor chrome job done by Cobra !

I can join in now....Flare shield installed last week....grip puppies and passenger peg removal tonight...center stand purchased, will install at a later date. And, against my better judgement, purchased a Bell Pit Boss half helmet yesterday, so I can listen to the radio during the summer. Only a battery tender is left to do. I have one, but the battery side wires went with the bike after my accident.

Ordered a Kury fork brace. Put staybill 360 in the tank. Took a 60 mile spin to round out the OD at 30,008 miles. Topped the tank with gas and 360. Looks like the salt season starts this week.
