Broke down and bought a pair of Sidi Canyon Goretex. Very comfortable right out of the box. Highly rated and should last. My two year old Tourmasters had very little sole left.

I wear Danner Goretex discontinued 6 inch hikers. The flat sole doesn't hang up on my mini boards. I wore cowboy boots once and that was scary. Heels hung up several times.
