You can't go wrong with honda cars or suv's. Especially if you plan on keeping it for a while. Resale value is also great

"Tacoma" is a Toyota pick up.

    Fuel thirsty?

If I need something with an engine in it and Honda makes one, that's what I buy. We have an Acura, a Honda tiller, a Honda lawn mower, and two Honda motorcycles. The only reason we have a toyota pickup is because, as previously stated, Honda doesn't make a real one. Why do I also have a Harley-Davidson motorcycle? Because I like to play pirate, too.

Thanks everyone for your comments! Kind of what I expected but wanted first-hand experience input.

Shooter, I used to work for Enterprise-Rent-a-Car and got to drive lots of makes/models. In my opinion the 2012 and earlier Escapes were not good. They were greatly improved in 2013 though. Of the Ford SUV's I LOVED the Edge. Great vehicle IMHO.

    Honda is my choice

We've got a Honda Ridgeline, Honda Civic, and 2 Honda tillers. All of these have been exceptionally reliable. My wife's Civic has 72+ thousand miles and has had no issues--period. Even has the original brake pads.
I just gought the F6B and expect it to be every bit as reliable as the rest.
The tillers are bears to ride, tho. I keep falling off!

    Trusting my daughter to Honda...

My youngest has an '02 Accord, with over 220,000 miles on it.
    Runs like an electric clock.

I guess the only Honda car I had was a 1973 Civic, one of the first sold in Vermont in the Fall of 1973. I had a '67 Firebird convertible, but with gas near 50 cents per gallon, just couldn't afford to drive it, 10-12 mpg. The new Civic, with the optional hatchback and AM radio, and then the Vt. sales tax added came to $2502 otd, And I made my first trip to Florida in it, a little over 1500 miles and a fuel cost of $21 and change!
Damn, would I like that Firebird back!! D
Gas went up that winter and it cost over $27 to return to Vt. in the spring

A friend of mine just bought his third CR-V. He loves them. He says they are extremely reliable.
