Has anyone tried one of these

GIpro-DS Honda Motorcycle Gear Indicator, if so how do you like it, is it accurate. Looks easy to install, just plug and play. I know on my Valkyrie I would try to ship up in fifth gear cause I thought it was still in forth.

I've got one on order. I don't know how long it will take my online retailer to get it and mail it to me. I hope before the end of my riding season up here. I'll give you a full report once installed. I read a lot of reviews on wingstuff and other sites before deciding to buy.

Yes, it looks very easy to install. Just remove the seat (5 minutes max), plug the Healtech connector into the Honda data link connector, and run the wire and display behind the left (or right) upper shelter into the audio speaker housing, then use double sided tape or velcro to fasten the display behind the speaker grille.

I ordered the red display for max visibility in bright sunshine.

This new model is even faster at gear indication, and talk about small and easy to find a place on the dash board for it. Here is a link to the manufacture and description of the unit. Cost $139.00

The X-Type is a universal gear indicator, so it isn't plug & play. According the the FAQ, the DS Series is the one to get for the F6B.

What is the difference between the DS and X-type models?
The display size and available colors are exactly the same, but the way it determines the gear position is very different.
The DS works on specific bike models while the X-type works on all bikes with 5 or 6 speed gearbox.
Both models are easy to install but it takes less time to install a DS.
Basically, the choice is simple. Get the DS if it is available for your bike, otherwise get the X-type.

A guy in my town has a 2012 GW, he has one of these mounted behind the left side speaker grill. (actually in the bottom right corner of the left side speaker grill). It is not noticeable when the bike is off. It shines thru the speaker grill and even shows up during bright sunlight.

I had never seen one till this summer
