    What was your first bike?

In 1970 I talked my mother into letting me buy a 1967 Suzuki 200cc, I was 15 at the time. That was a fun bike to learn how to ride.

My dad brought one of these home in a box for me, rebuilt it, overhauled the engine, painted it krylon red with silver wheels. I was 6, rode it until I was 11. This is not the actual scoot, but it looked just like it minus the upholstered seat. It had two iron seats that looked like they came off a tractor.

    One of these:

I won it in a contest. It was a giveaway from a department store for buying a pair of Keds sneakers. That was 1967. I was on top of the world with a Honda 50. I kept it all of 8 months before moving up to a lightly used 1967 Yamaha 180 street twin. Now I'm on top of the world with my F6B. What a difference a few years, an additional 1782 cc, and 5 more cylinders make.

In February 1977 I bought my first new bike for around $700. In today's world that will barely get you an aftermarket exhaust. It was a single cylinder XL 125 Honda.

Back in 1976 I purchased a 1975 Suzuki GT750 also known as the "water buffalo". Water cooled and fast for a bike of the day. A big bike for a newbie but a blast to ride. Kept it for 6 years.
2013 F6B in black of course

Bought it new in June of that year.
Rode it for three years until a VW killed it.

1960 Zundap. Had to mix the oil in with the gas so it was definitely only used for local rides. Ironically, it was red and black, just like my F6B. 😊

A Whizzer motorbike, 1953 bought for $50 from a school friend..Rode it a couple of years and sold it in a basket of parts...A couple of short stints with a 1962 BSA and an old Matchless....Did not ride much again until 1973 when I purchased my first "new" motorcycle a Honda 350 twin...The rest is a history of many, many bikes......
