    Travel plans

At the end of June I will be traveling to Bristol, Ct. The complete trip will take week plus both weekends and July 4 th. i am looking for scenic route to take on the way up. Anyone have suggestions. I will be leaving from the Tampa area. I would like not to travel up I-95. Oh I don't have space for camping gear so camp grounds are out. A new go Pro will be with me!

Hwy 301 up to Georgia looks interesting; I haven't been that far on it though.

Do you have an electronic GPS? I just got a Garmin Zumo 590LM and would highly recommend it with the Goldwing GPS Audio Input device from GoldwingDocs.

( , yes stay off 95 in Virginia, speed limit 55, tickets, Washington, traffic, Baltimore, tolls and traffic, Phila. and Jersey for sure!.) 95 not bad south of Virginia. After that, forgetaboutit.
Virginia, Maryland and PA. 220 or 219 are awesome , then
    In Pa: western route(mountains) 219 to 120E, 220E 118E, 309S,115, 94E, 611 Stroudsburg, Pa to 209 to Port Jervis , NY.
    or

Eastern Route:(woodsy, hilly, country)from Maryland 220N, rt #1N into PA,L on 202N to Newhope,Pa at Jersey border (Delaware river) 32N to 611N to 209. or
more scenic, but longer, but no traffic, : Maryland #1N over Conowingo Dam to West Grove,PA 841n to 82N to 23E, L Pawlings rd, R Egypt rd, 363N, 73E, 202N, to New Hope, Pa. to Delawre river , 32N to 611N to 209.
The eastern route is maybe like 4 hours shorter.
[B]Far East[/B, yes In Maryland, 301N to 213 Chestertown MD, stop at Chesapeake city at the Chesapeake Inn for dinner..on the water, then 213 into 841 into PA, cross Mason/Dixon line, cross rt#1 to 82N and follow directions above to New Hope.

I'm thinking 75 North thru Chattanooga then up to Knoxville. Then 81 to Scranton,PA. Then 84 into CT. Whatcha think? Yes I have a GPS, but since I have not hit the Lotto I don't have a Zumo yet. Just a Garmin Nuvi 52. Love my screen size!

If you're going to that far around IMO 81 to scranton is boring and the PA section is rough. Not sure of the routes but Knoxville though Kentucky then Ohio to western NY then 17 to Binghamton is a much nicer ride. From there 17 or 88 are both nice rides depends on where in CT you are going.

That first route would be a long way around. You may want to look at 77 to 79 then 80 across pa to 81. 81 isnt all bad just throwing some options out as I think its about exciting as running 95

After looking at that route it was going to add about 12 hours to the trip each way!

maybe the Far east option might be the best, stop at Chesapeake city & New Hope (you need to take 179 off 202 and go into New Hope, good place to stop and eat, then 32N to 611 is very scenic woodsy along river.
