1 year old 12k miles of bliss!

It's been 1 year since I got the baby. 12k miles and she is still smoking red hot! Another 2-4k miles and she'll need new shoes.

Your estimate for remaining miles is probably accurate... but bear in mind that once the rear is low on tread, whatever rubber is left goes quickly! You'll go from low tread to carcass showing before you know it.

For the front... bear in mind that this is your main tire for control of the bike. I like to get every ounce of wear out of my tires... but front motorcycle tires always get replaced sooner than I would for the rear or on my car.

Nothing you don't already know, but just throwing that out there.

    Front Stone

The OEM Front Stone is a amazing tire! Had approximately 16.5K miles on mine and replaced it prior to my yearly Pa. Vehicle Inspection. Dissected the tire casing for $hits and giggles and discovered there was almost 1/2" rubber remaining in the tire center even when worn into the center grove wear bars. IMHO the the front tire should easily go 19/20K miles before needing replacement. The thread/tread thickness is definitely a safety factor.

Here's my original post on the subject with pics.

Wow your back tire looks good for the miles on it. I have about 6600 on my bike and my back tire is about shot. But I must say I ride it very hard

Brian- remember I live in Florida, flat and not much curves. We have "Tail of the Gecko" thats 318 miles with only 11 curves. I run 90% of the time without a passenger and I keep the pressures at 41 Front and rear.
