Honda OEM helmet audio set, not worth your time

: I purchased the audio set from Honda, and am very disappointed. To make the speakers fit in my Shoei Neotex modular helmet, U would have to cut the speakers cavities in the helmet, larger than they come in the helmet shell. I'm not chopping up a $600 helmet for an experiment. Guess I will put them in an older full face, sitting on the shelf. Anyone have a better fitting product for the Shoei? Would appreciate any advice.

Good thing you didn't cut the inside of your helmet yet, you'd be more than disappointed.
I did that to mine to make the speakers fit only to find the sound less than expected for a Honda OEM product.... $218.95 down the drain.
I've done quite a bit of "googling" for helmet speakers, nothing I want to experiment with.
Think my next try will be ear plug speakers.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

Sorry I can't recommend any in-helmet speakers, but fwiw I've been happy with my Klipsch Image S4-II In-Ear Headphones.

Yes with an adapter. I got mine from ElectricalConnections.com but I no longer see them on the website. Wingstuff has the adapters too but there's have a cable; I like this one with no cable.

When you say Honda OEM,is that the J&M headsets?
I had those installed today and had to have the foam cut back to fit.
They could barely be heard, but after I got home I redid the audio settings and just sitting it made a big difference.
It cost me right at $450 after buying the headsets, the bottom cords and the rear passenger cord that connects to the motorcycle so the passenger can plug in.

I am going to see if it was worth it tomorrow on a ride.

The Honda OEM part number is: 08B80-MCA-100, got it from the Honda dealer, came in a "Honda Genuine Accessories" labeled package.
It could be made by J&M, the package also states "Designed exclusively for Honda motorcycles."

    Thanks F6B1911.
That is different than my actual J&M sets.
I was pissed all the way home (130 miles) from the dealer because I could not hear anything different from song to song no matter what the volume.
When I got home I read the manual and adjusted the AVC for the headsets.
I just took the bike out for a ride at 75 mph and there is about a 90% difference from what it was coming home.
